Tears fall free of guise
As pain rolls ‘long the numb
Spine of men once brave,
Sparks in me thought
Of time spent in arms open
And heart kept in lock and chain.
Shreds of men I used to be
Torn by gust of love
Spread to and fro.
As glass panes crack,
The clock of death
Tolls the bell of life.
Start at the end
Look back then bend
To will of sweet song sung, sing.
Lost at sea but not all gone
Still in wait at end of day
At bed’s side
And in mind’s ear, eye, mouth, nose.
