THE PRETENDER

This art I excel
I use words to pretend
Even the smartest are deceived
I triumph always at the end

With my machination
How people trust me
Many think I am infallible
They love to be in my company

As I ramble on with lofty words
My reputation and followers grow
My picture appears everywhere
In more places than I know.

'You can't fool all the people
all the time' ---so they say
But I am a master of words
I fool everyone---indeed everyday!
