Your Future Wife
He stole my love,
with ****** after ******,
and with every ragged breath
he ruined my trust.
Long after those nights,
I sealed myself away,
having learned a man's words,
never mean what they say.
So when you came to my life,
with sweet words so smooth,
it's no wonder my heart,
couldn't realize the truth.
I never knew I could find you,
when with every thought I would sink,
oblivion lay before me,
I was perched on the brink.
But like a gentle breeze,
you swayed my direction,
you healed the damage he wrought,
with a loveless *******.
I feel human for once,
and not just a thing, to be
played with when wanted,
then tossed aside with a swing.
So I thank you, my love,
for changing my life.
You're my forever and always.
