your hands are pale
fingernails sharpened like swords
hands like shackles;
wrapped around my fleshy ankles
you drag me down to the depths of yourself, and expect me to swim us both to shore
but, the current snapped my bones
and you broke my heart a long time ago..

i am just the sea foam now
the froth that beats against the rocks
like a prisoner against bars.

i'll sacrifice myself to the sharks and the sea monsters,
let them rip my beating heart out
if it means you'll just look the other way.

around you, i am a little girl lost in the waves
trying to call out but no one can hear her

and i swear,

**you will be the death of me.
you're not what i need and this isn't what i wanted
