The drizzling rain,
Walking with a cane,
An old man narrates his story,
How he had met a young lady.
He was a business man in his time,
Who owned a salt mine.
He was quiteΒ Β successful,
But not blissful.
Then one day he came across a woman,
She was as beautiful as a swan,
Who wore a dress in fawn,
She was ravishing.
She walked with such grace,
That could allure a man in different ways,
Her voice so calm,
Could evict a man in its trance.
He met her there,
It was a fine day,
He had manned up and went to her,
He asked her out.
That night,
He drove her around in the city of lights,
Every time she laughed,
His heart would stop.
He met her gaze,
All he could see was a young and strong woman,
Alone in this world full of cruel people,
Causing pain and talking insane.
In a few days,
He saw himself walking down the aisle,
With this woman in white.
He felt so delighted and lucky.
On 29 August 1986,
He called her at a park,
Where he was going to pop the question.
He was waiting for her arrival.
Suddenly the phone rang,
He answered the call,
He had just said hello,
Only then he realised it wasnt her call.
He started to weep,
As he ran down the parking lot,
He had got another call.
She was gone !
The old man hadn't stopped loving her.
He would go to the cemetery daily,
Sitting beside her grave he would talk to her.
She was the only woman he had ever yearned for.
