I did not forget you
The way you wield words
To clears the thick muck
That collects on the bottom of
The black boat barreling down
The Missouri River

The deluge of branches
You barely missed
As I stared at this
Shoreline one to a thousand times

You poked passing holes
In the water to know
How and where to go

A little to the left
A little to the right
