I wrote a love letter on a tamarind seed
And watched a bird fly down to feed
Upon the fare.
It took my letter as it flew up in the air
I hope it took it somewhere
Where the sun always bleeds
And someone reads what I have wrote
Although on a tamarind seed it is of necessity a very short note.
I may even get a kind reply.
So every day I watch the sky
Waiting for the bird.
