Everytime
some health ****
tells me smoking
will take ten years
off my life,
I remember my mother
and grandfather
both in their eighties
and their last
ten years of misery,
decline and dementia,
smile, light another
and think
how wise I am.
This isn't a poem about the virtues of smoking. It's about strangers who don't know you trying to use their PC values to tell you what you should or shouldn't do.
