Honeyed Lemonade
I had to shut the
windows
because the summer
air was hot
and dry
and memories of
southern Oregon
deluged my mind
where I was in the
dale with you
the grassy
wheat stained
vale with you
and your hand held up
every hope of youth's
crusade
A part of me
will always be there
drinking honeyed
lemonade
