I am happy to be me

I am not just like my mother or father

I am just like me

I am an individual

I am all I want to be

Society defines us

By what job we tend to do

one hundred and sixty hours a week

I walk in my own shoes

I may have a waitress job

I may live in a council flat

I may not be as rich as you

But what is wrong with that?

I am me, I am many things

I am a girlfriend, I am a mother

I live life the way I choose

and I am like no other

I am a poet, a traveller

I am open minded and free

I am blessed with many friends

I am as happy as can be
