Your mirror looks so sweet
It knows everything about you
It shines through all your doubts
And the things it knows that are true
I wanted to ask a few questions
Letting on is not your style
I stared long and hard at the streaks
The fact it wasn’t clean made me smile

I stared so long things moved in on me
Tell me about the men she charmed
I needed to get a drink first though
I didn’t want to be unarmed
When I got back I was ready
What I heard wasn’t what I’d imagined
You sat in his bed smiling at the camera
But you once told me it never happened

That’s what the problem was
The things I thought were secrets
Were the things I already knew
But I wanted to conquer my weakness
I had to stare into something
I was tired of running away
What I finally saw was not a reflection
But instead unshaven words I could never say
