Day terrors and inside jokes
They’re the ones that love you the most
They cast the net
You learn to forget
Wonder if it’s the same coast to coast
It’s a grave situation
Enslaved in a smile
Honesty can’t be seen for miles
So what do you do
The past never feels new
The future feels fruitless
Your soul’s black and blue

But it has to get better
Cause even hate rusts
The dust in the hourglass
Never moves fast enough
And if you were a teacher
You could teach pain
All the heartbreak in the world
In every single drop of rain
