You know, a field of roses is beautiful
The roses may look the same
They are so much alike
To an extreme they all feel plain

But all my eyes saw
Is a beautiful rose that stood
Tall among those roses
I would show you if I could

I placed the rose in a vase
Took care of it, I did
Because this rose made me happy
As from the envious I hid

But as the times passed
The rose started to lose its scent
It was totally out of shape
Its stem completely bent

I was heartbroken as I realized
The rose was giving up on me
Just like all the other roses
My heart once used to see
