At last
after piercing the darkness
a smile and that whiteness..
departing the hyena
the knowing death..
departing the quarrels
death wrapping words..
those writing beacons
shaded with death..
and brief happiness
rising from death..
At last
a smile and such
whiteness..
and the hyena's
welcoming cry...

The Snows of Kilimanjaro
