If only I was not a nonagenarian
so old, they will see that I'm an alien
if I could just press the hash tag key
they would only see me as a monkey

If only, yes if only, I was not harsh with battle cries
treading waters gentle, making no ripples
but no not me, never so gently
when I storm, I storm millions of people

Know my little pretty things
see the magic that they hold within
yet life fades fast once again
before I get too frail and old

Rest for me
if only
death for me
if only
