If flight is taken from the bird
So also is her unique beauty
Now she is beautiful, so you've heard
But to take her flight is to take her passion, her duty

Her colors are as bright as day
But still somehow they've lost their fire
She walks the ground aimlessly
defeated by her own desire

What makes this creature captivating
Is not the colors of her feathers
It's the wind beneath her wings
How she flies above the weather

A bird was made to fly, you see
And I somehow relate
It lost it's fight with gravity
I should learn from her mistake

I'm not a feathered creature
but I was made to fly
Yet only metaphorically
And I've been sitting still a while

You came to give me flight, or life
And life to live abundantly
If I stand by and wait for more
I'll lose my fight with gravity

Like the bird has it's flight
I also have my own uniqueness
It's what you gave me called new life
And to waste it would be foolishness
Flightless Bird-A passionless woman who, though superficially attractive and financially independent, is romantically unfulfilled due to emotional underdevelopment.
