Punching Tennessee
Hardbitten along the ride and on
the other side is State Missouri,
tanned hide upon the horse
I call her Jericho.
A misery of a mare
perhaps the name I gave
don't fit her right,
Like my spurs and chaps
taken from a dead man somewhere
down
Texas way.
