Silver and Gold

I have two things more precious than gold,
and I'm very lucky for both I can hold.

One gives me music when I'm feeling blue,
and one gives me love when the music won't do.

One can surround me with music and sound,
the other one gives me a love that's unbound.

Without these pieces I'd scarcely survive,
These are the things that help keep me alive,

Both of these things are never quite far,
One is my cat, and one my guitar.

I must say, I wrote this poem long before I had my son Jesse, now he is the thing that keeps me going.
