Hands
 Jan 2014 RP

There is so much to be said about the human body but I would like to focus on one specific part for a moment.

Hands

There is something so magnificent yet terrifying about these rather small body parts, in comparison to the rest of you. Hands are capable of fixing and breaking and shaking and crushing and holding and letting go.
(Please do not let go of me.)
There are little creases that tell stories and lead to greater things, like the rest of you.
Hands, like the rest of the human body, come in all shapes and sizes and tones and textures. They can be rough or they can be soft, every pair has the same capability as the next.
Hands are the root of Touch. Hands are the root of Feeling.

I think about hands a lot; your fingers dance around in my head.
There are stories embedded in your palms and I will listen intently to every word they whisper or scream.
There are little fires on your fingertips and I cannot wait for you to set me on fire.

I Loved
I've Been Lied To

I Loved
I've Been Cheated

I Loved
I've Been Failed

With All These
I've Lost All The Hope
I Started Believing
There Is No Love In My Life

It Is Then
When I Saw You
It Is Then
When I Met You
It Is Then
When I Understood You

With All These
A New Hope Bud In Me
I Started To Believe
There Might Still Be A Chance For Love

It Was Out Of My Hands
To Avoid You
It Was Out Of My Hands
To Ignore You
It Was Out Of My Hands
Not To Love You

Time Passed By Slowly
I Started Falling For You Quickly
Without Any Notice
You Came Into My Life

I Suddenly Realize
The Distance Between Us Has Decreased
We Are Getting Closer And Closer
Day By Day

It Is At This Moment
Life's Biggest Trick Has Been Put Into Play
Fate!!!!!

Your Long Lost Love
Suddenly Returns To You
You Decide To Let Your Love
Re-Enter Your Life Again

I Was In Dilemma
I Couldn't Understand My Feelings Anymore
I Was Happy That You Got Your Love Of Life
I Was Broken That I Lost My Love Of Life

But I Couldn't Cry Infront Of You
As You Were Jumping With Joy
As You Were Shouting With Happiness
As You Were Crying With Amusement

After Sending You Off To Your Love
I Started Consoling My Heart
But I Didn't Knew How
Then I Took A Decision
I'm Going To Stay With You No Matter What
As I Thought It Would Be Fine If You Were With Me

Slowly Space Grew Between Us
Finally We Have Drifted Apart From Each Other

I Didn't Knew What To Do Anymore
I Couldn't Think Straight Anymore
To My Surprise
I've Lost Myself In This Chaos

Then Out Of The Blue
You Come To Me
Just To Say
You Don't Want Me In Your Life Anymore

Tell Me
How Am I Supposed To React To This?

Even When You Rejected My Love
I Stood There To Support Your Love
Now When You Reject My Friendship
I Don't Have Anymore Strength Left To Stand

I Am Falling Apart.....
I Am Breaking Into Pieces.....

In The End, I've Been SHATTERED Into The Wind! ! ! ! !

I see the deadlines in things.

I see it in our conversation at 2am in the morning
When you made me muffle my laughter under the sheets
Hoping that my parents would not open my bedroom door.
Even in the haze of my joy, I could see the deadline of us blinking red.
But I was foolish,
I had hoped this thing between us would not spoil,
Even as the red numbers start their countdown.

Tick Tock Tick Tock

I can feel it in between us,
As thick as a wall, a barrier between our bodies
My heart clenches and I hurt,
When you smiled angelically and told me that we can be forever.
As I burn your smile into my memory,
I shook my head slightly.
How can there be a forever
when we must die as long as the clock ticks?

Tick Tock Tick Tock

I can hear the deadline in my palpitating pulse
It beats harder as I anticipate a reply *any reply

My heart skips a beat when you said you had forgotten to reply
For maybe the fifth time this fortnight.
When you said good night a few minutes later
My heart threatens to free fall.

Tick Tock Tick Tock

I can taste the deadline when you chose to end what we started.
You said "Maybe this is when we start to expire"
Bile rises up my throat and I cannot hold it in anymore.
I throw up just then.
This is my fear - that I am living in my nightmare
I cannot hold back what I feel for you.

I know our deadline is here - this is our closure.
You said goodbye and I whispered my farewell.
My clock stops ticking.
This verbal ***** is what i feel whenever i talk to someone. The feeling is so suffocating.

the sun turned my trees orange and
the skies match your ignorant hue
yeah so it goes
cut off all your hair
paint your nails a new color
scrub the dirt off your face
theres nothing underneath
yeah so it goes
drink all the cough medicine
and call him again and again
listen to an answering machine
until you can sing the lines
with pristine excellence
so it goes
read your book and write your prose
till the snow melts below you
it washes you away
the marks on your skin wont make a difference then
the itch in your groin wont raise a finger
so it goes
the world is turning round and round to a
nightmare
papers burning, scattering in the winter winds

2 a.m.
 Jan 2014 RP
Diana
2 a.m is for parties
Showing off to loud music
And a thumping bass
**** and beer being passed around
As we try to forget the tragedy
That is our teenage years

2 a.m. is for the envious
The castaways constantly forgotten
Who wish they could be accepted
But don’t realize their pain
Would prevail either way

2 a.m is for forgetting
With a dreamful escape
Dead for at least a few hours
Because sometimes you just can’t deal with being awake
And suicide is frowned upon

2 a.m. is for remembering
Whether you want to or not
As you lay awake in bed
Mind racing with thoughts and memories
Sleep never comes

2 a.m. is for the lonely
Wishing for someone to hold
Someone who understands
But as they reach for the other side of the bed
They find nothing but empty space

2 a.m. is for the lovers
Happily sleeping in each others arms
Because they’re finally at peace
They can face the world together
And sleep can come easily

2 a.m. is being single
Because love ***** and feelings hurt
And sometimes you just need to find yourself
So you can be independent
And get shamelessly wasted

2 a.m. is for the parents
Who heard their baby cry
Or their kid had a nightmare
Because yeah, sleeping is great
But taking care of your child is so much better

2 a.m. is for alcoholics
Who fake a smile all day
To drink their pain away all night
And wish they could trade their heart
For another liver

2 a.m. is for the sober ones
Who never drink or gave it up
And are fighting the temptation
But everything seems tougher
At 2 a.m.

2 a.m. is for those smart people
Whose minds are always working
To figure everything out
And refuse to take a break
Because that’s just wasted time

2 a.m. is for the dumb people
Who aren't really dumb
They’re just smart in a different way
But after getting called stupid their whole lives
They start to believe it

2 a.m is for the fans
Staying up all night watching their favorite show or band
Because they saved their life
And they are more than willing to do anything for them
And losing some sleep isn't much

2 a.m. is for the students
Who are cramming for an exam
Or finishing their essay
Or maybe just procrastinating
Because ****, school is hard

2 a.m. is for the teachers
Because they need to grade these papers
Or complete the lesson plan
And even if it doesn't seem like it
Teaching is a hard job

2 a.m. is for the doctors
Working the graveyard shift
That have seen way too much in their career
But someones gotta do it
And saving lives is worth it

2 a.m. is for the nurses
Working along side the doctors
Wishing they had the same respect as doctors
But would never give up their job
Because they really are good people

2 a.m. if for the patients
Who are in so much pain
And are fighting for their lives
They just want to get out of this place
That smells a bit too clean

2 a.m. is for the readers
Who can’t put down their book
Because it’s just that good
And refuse to sleep until they know
What happens to their favorite characters

2 a.m. is for the dreamers
Who’s imagination comes to life
At the oddest times
And think life is ******* amazing
If you look at it just right

2 a.m. is for the realist
Who can’t sleep because they know how ****** life is
And lost their innocence long ago
They refuse to sugar coat anything
Because they don’t want others to hurt like they did

2 a.m. is for the poets
Writers whose minds can come up with anything
At any time
And they just have to get up and write it
In fear of forgetting it

2 a.m. is for musicians
Who stay up all night to play a gig
Or finish a song before the magic fades
And they know this sleepless life is hard
But they love it anyways

2 a.m. is for artist
Because that clear vision
Just won’t translate on the sketch
And yeah, it’s getting really late
But that’s no reason to give up

2 a.m. is for the cutters
Who rid themselves of daily pain
With the bitter-sweet kiss of a blade
And new scars
Only to cover them up in the morning

2 a.m. is for saving lives
Because that’s when things get tough
The ones you love are about to give up
But you fight like hell to stop them
And a phone call has never been so important

2 a.m. is for suicide
Because you don’t believe anyone cares
And this is the best time to end your life
Since it’s easier to go unnoticed
And you don’t realize the pain you’ll cause

2 a.m. is for everyone
Because everyone goes through life
Because everyone feels
And every emotion seems a  thousand times stronger
Those late nights at 2 a.m.

yesterday
i burnt that
silver ring
the one that
you gave me
when you
promised me
that you'd
never leave
my side
but you did
you lied
you hurt me
yet i still
acted nice to you
what for?
just to get broken
all over again

my body

this is a series of brief letters to the pieces of my body

dear body,
we don't always work together very well,
but i swear i am trying.

dear hands,
the callouses and crescent moons in your palms
will not be for nothing.

dear knuckles,
aren't you tired of painting yourselves black & blue
every time words fall short of the fire burning behind my sternum?

dear feet,
you know better than to follow roads that lead to dead ends.
there are better places for us to go.

dear eyes,
you have sunken so far into my skull
it shocks me you see anything at all anymore.
you're fixated on shades of gray
but i promise the world will regain its color soon.

dear knees,
stop crawling.
this broken glass is from his bottles.
get up. no more blood.

dear shoulders,
it was never your burden to carry. let it fall,
and try your hardest not to feel guilty.

dear neck,
his hands will never make a home here,
and you are worth more than one night of empty bruises.

dear spine,
stop waiting to be warmed by fingers
that would reach for another body if they could.

dear tears,
do not waste yourselves.

dear ears,
you have been filled with ghost songs for too long.
stop listening for things no one is saying -
it will make life much simpler.

dear mouth,
i know these secrets have been threatening to break my teeth
but please do not open your gates. i am not ready.

dear skin,
we have never been close friends.
i am sorry for the scars.
i am trying to learn how to be comfortable in you.

dear mind,
if i could wish you into an etch-a-sketch
and shake you clean of these bad memories i would.

dear heart,
i hope you can forgive me for being so careless.
i feel how tired you are. rest is on its way.

dear body,
you will one day see a grave,
but it must not be by your own hands.

April 19, 2010

to you, this is just a past date
to me, it's when I found out I was too late
too late to save her from her misery
to help, to stop, to make her happy.

you left this world without
any warnings or goodbye's
I still to this day ask myself
why did you have to die?

I know you're in a better place
I just wish you were happy here
although you aren't alive anymore
your presence and soul is near

the day you died
I can't explain the tears
I hate the thought
of you not being here

I just wish you didnt
hold it all inside
or decide the only way to be happy
was to commit suicide

I always think about you
I'll even shed a tear
it's just sad to think
it's already been three years

I'll never forget you
or the memories we shared
memories with anyone else
could never compare

you were always there for me
that's what best friends do
right up until the end
I will always love you
