The refreshing drink clears my throat
Clears my worries
Clears my head
Many adults may use water
And yet, I utilize the one pertaining to infants
For although I may be an adult in years,
In my heart,
I am only a young girl with a thirst for cereal,
Without the cheerios
Searching for the self
Drowning in time
Whirling, waiting
Hoping,  praying.
Gasping, grasping,
Reaching for a center.
No end in sight,
Pulse racing as if in a fight.
Seeking, peeping,
breathing, keeping.
Where am I going?
No.
Where am I staying.
Embrace the soul.
Master the whole and the world will follow.
Always full and never hollow.
Resting,  easing,
The peace is teasing....

Funny how we woke up in the morning
and pretended that tomorrow never happened—
strutted naked in mirrors celebrating our youth,
laughing, knowing suns and moons couldn’t do the same.

We borrowed our arms from the fridge
and peddled bicycles with bad breath—
trading war stories ‘cause we knew
if we came back alive
life would still be the death of us.

Evacuating the life,
Life of sadness.
Instant gratification is the death of her.
She sees her sorrows float away, and
Empty skies turn to poetry

The sky paints herself,
each day a new canvas.

She wants us to know how she's feeling;
what she's feeling.

Some days she is mellow and flows with the wind,
causing us to vaguely notice her.

Others, she feels live and joyous,
showing us her beautiful colors of pinks and purples.
orange and reds.

Yet at times she feels blue,
desiring us to discover her sorrows.
We gaze at the lonely sky

and weep.
No better day than today.
Pick up and leave.
Do what you wanted to
Yesterday
And the day before
Ever since you could remember thinking about it
You were thinking about doing it
What’s stopping you?
What’s holding you back?
Smash lies, drown guilt itself, **** damnation, fly high, and
Never
Look
Back.
This is your life.
It’s yours and no one else’s
To make
And mold
And have
And hold
And love
And find
Wherever it may take you
Let it comfort you
And “never look back”, I said!
Don’t look down
And for the record
And for God’s sake
Godspeed to you, brothers and sisters!
Seize what is yours!
Deliver your dreams, conquer your fears, and
Be a champion of chivalry
A king of kindness
A giant of joy
And above all
Make this place
Make this time
Make this one
Count.

The sweet fragrance of hibiscus
its petals soaked with dew like sparkling jewels
mingling with the tropical song of the waves dashing against the sandy shore
where my mind travels so often to
tropical birds hush to sleep the world and every living thing
but morning wakes with dew sweet hibiscus blooms
and happy dancing butterflies kiss those petals of hibiscus flowers
such ineffable beauty that takes my breath away and when I inhale
I breathe in the sweet hibiscus blooms mingling with the smell of the salty sea
with my pen to paper I describe what I see and witness in my mind's eye
oh how I wish the journeys on the wings of imagination would last forever
but sadly the all too soon end just like sweet hibiscus dreams
