Did you travel here through darkness
Touch my cheek, whisper my name
your eager hand my swift undoing
your kisses bringing skin aflame.
Did you love me oh so deeply
as you entered velvet dark
did you hear my breathless yearning
did you race my bitter heart.
Now I wake in lonely bedroom
hushed and longing in your wake
I **** the earth, her cruel circumference
and beg her now my soul to take.
Tonight I'll sleep the sleep of angels
and dream as only sinners do
of distant shores and carnal pleasure
in hope it brings me back to you.

this is a day for blowing feathers
laying down in grass
singing to the cows
listening to the world speak
watching a spider
cradling a butterfly
whistling to the sun
eating breakfast
this is a day

I sit here by my crackling fire
surrounded by all that I desire
nature for all
Bacon frying in the pan
coffee in the mug
the morning sun there in the east
small birds fly up above
I sit and I do wonder
how long can this beauty last
against the greed of man
We spew pollution in the air
about acid rain we do not care
for we now have got the cash
Our fair land now ripped by open cast
in our search for coal, for gold for wealth
but that wealth is but for the few
The multitudes who bend their backs
the ones who have the cough that wracks
and tears apart their lungs
still labour for a paltry sum
not for them the holiday in the sun
the bosses can afford
And so for the years that I have left
I will enjoy the nature that is left
BEFORE IT TO IS GONE

That cut grass smell, freshens the morning
reminding me of your visit.
How you rolled in it with my boy
as he shouted "Grass fight!!" and you bellowed the theme from Dambusters,
a tied sheet your makeshift cape
as his laughter sent other birds to flight.
How you told him that you were 5 too.. but descended from giants
his eyes widening at the mystery of you, this woman-child with hair of fire.
You entertained us with ease and drove out sadness with bad knock knock jokes and good candy.
I knew in that moment that life was good.
He knew in that moment that it was ok to just be him..... because you were just you.
Some friends are pure magic.
