Tiger lay his guitar down and thought of times long past
He remembered picnics in the park
And lots of laughs
He reminisced about a kiss
The first one they shared
The excitement he first felt
When they met upon that bridge
They got lost in each other
Embracing the moment
Planning a future
One that came to be
The freedom in marriage
The freedom to be
To evolve
The he in her
The her in he
A united front
For these chosen ones
Let it be

Meet the King of lonely hearts
He wants all to know
He’s available, hear the call
He comes home and shouts
Is anybody home and
No one answers
Just a silent no, no, no

The King pours himself a stiff one
Turns on the TV
Then considers writing a verse or two
Of poetry
The topic will be lost love
A romance he will relive
With a girl who used to love him
‘Til she had no more to give

A beautiful house he has
High up on a hill
If only he could share it
The King and his girl
That is all he wants
He’s got everything he needs
Except the emptiness inside
Somebody help him, please

This story wanted to be a poem
But it didn’t make it all the way
It’s content to be just that
Who’s to say it can’t stand on its own?

It was like high school
The three friends who anxiously watched
The dates as they went down
Did they like each other?
Was there any awkwardness?
How about a first kiss?
Savannah set them up
Jenna and Anna conspired
Watching the developments
As if they were voting returns
Yes, Libby and Sayan matched
Cheered on by their fans
The proposal was a topper
For he handed her a Dunkin’ Donuts bag
At the end of the New York Marathon
In which he ran (fit dude!)
And hurriedly got down on one knee
When she became suspicious
As to why Jenna was hiding in the bushes with a camera
This is is a romcom in real life

If only you
Could see me today
You’d be impressed
Maybe even say you were wrong
There should have been a way
For us to be together
Just like the good old days

I wish I could call you
But that’s not practical
You’ve got a life with a family
It’s been too many years
But I know you would be proud to see
That I turned out OK
So I sent my best silently
By these words you’ll never hear
You may be far-away
But in my heart you are near

He stood in front of the apartment
Staring at her floor above
He wanted to see her so badly
So much was he in love
Tantalized, he fantasized
What their life would be
It was as close as he would ever get
In the land of make-believe

That was many years ago
Yes, he has moved on
But some days he still passes by that place
As early as dawn
And he remembers, and softly says to himself
“How happy were those days,
When we took the chance on our brave romance,”
Then he sighs and goes on his way

Lost love, sad love
Better than none at all
He still loves her so very much
He gave his all

He will always feel this way
One of these days he hopes to see her again
Still his one which makes him so lonely
God bless her, Amen

Mama said "You'll know."
She was right
There was someone meant for me
When it was right, I would know who was the one

I used to stand on the shore
Wondering where or when
Once I thought I knew
But she was just a friend

I thought time would pass me by
Life is like the wind
It goes and flows and can't be stopped
Each day different

But it's all the same when there is no one
To share a love together
I like spending time alone, but not every day!
And so it was for so long
Me, myself and I
Until the day my someone appeared
I can't deny

That I love her, that I know she is the one
Mom was right, I just knew
No more on the run
I knew then I still do
Love is surely fun
