I was a fool
Poor little me
I fell for her
She felled me
I gave
I lost
My heart
The cost
I gave all
All was lost
So I stand alone on this lonely shore
The perfect place for what’s in store
Tears to account for this misery
She will never be mine
So it must be

They towed my T-bird
Landlord is at the door
Trying to get ahead
Gonna make that score
Big blue sky
Still mine be assured
They can’t tow me
Just the T-bird

I got no cash but I ain’t down
It’s  just just an opportunity
Not gonna drown
For me to achieve
No mountain gonna stop me
You better believe

I guess for now I’ll taking the bus
I’ll make the best of it
Won’t cuss
Just **** it up

They towed my T-bird
I don’t need a car
I got two good feet
I can wish upon a star

They towed the T-bird
But they can’t tow me

I’m not sure I deserve you
One so very cool
A winner by any measure
While I’m just an average Joe

Your winsome smile
Come hither look
Stop me in my tracks
I can’t believe this is happening
So I tell myself

I will try my best for you
For you so inspire
No one can match your loveliness
Nor shall I tire of your company
The aura that you have
You’re better than I could have dreamed
I want to be your man

Meet Lisa, all of 18
She’s just started college
She hasn’t made any friends yet
So she joins a club
The first event is an outing near the shore
She takes the train with Pierre
A senior, who is also attending the party
The chit-chat and banter
Is better than usual
He is so easy to talk to
A friendship blossoms
She likes his dimples and dreamy eyes
She is falling in you-know-what
“Do you think we could be something?”
Lisa asks as they walk in the park one day
It takes courage to ask Pierre
Who did previously say
He is taking a gap year to work on himself
In other words, no way
The date ends with a hug
Such a sad goodbye
For Lisa, it feels like the end
But then they never even started
Yes, but at least she tried

I’m 32 feet in length
36 feet high
Been all around the world
Oh, the docks and sights I’ve seen
Enough to make me sigh
I knew the Sloop John B
We hung out in Nassau
Then we moseyed
To St. Barts, where many parties occurred
I like a choppy wind on glassy seas
With a group of sailors who know what their doin’
Don’t need any pleas
Had a woman fall overboard back in ‘21
That was a close one
Not at all fun
She got off at the next port
Fine by me, I’m a good sport

I’ve had seven skippers
They’ve all been pretty good
Mr. Bill is the latest
He does what he should
I’ve become a luxury cruise ship
That’s fine by me
As long as you keep me polished and clean
Call me the Seventh Sea

“I’m out of their league they think
Too shy to make a move”
That’s what Missy the singing star says
She’s in a mood
Worldwide acclaim she has
But she’s so alone
How do you meet someone?
Especially on the road?
With security everywhere?

Missy is all by herself
Cursing what’s acute
Her need for love
Love with someone cute

So she writes songs about longing
About being alone
About her need for another
She wants to get goin’
Find someone to care for
Who will love her as much
Yes, and be there for
Times of triumph or sorrow
The good and the bad
It’s sharing she wants
What others have
As much

It’s the real thing
I fell in love with her differences
But we like the same thing
Like walks in the park
Hearing birds that sing

This is a love that will never grow old
Want to know why?
Fate collided with destiny
Creating this fire inside
