I'll love you
From silky smooth
To wrinkled,
From sane
To senile,
I'll love you
From sandy blonde or brunette
To ashen grey or balding white,
From twenty/twenty
To glaucoma,
I'll love you
From hushed whispers
To hearing aids,
From skips and hops
To rascal scooters,
I'll love you
From fast food and coke
To ensure and depends,
From broken fingernails
To fractured hips,
I'll love you
From baby boy
To great grandchildren,
From skydives
To rocking chairs,
I'll love you
From glitter
To pill reminders,
From off the lot
Until rusted into the ground,
I'll love you
From now
To forever,
From hello
To the grave...

She's beautifully flawed
Imperfection
Deserving applaud
Beaten down and broken
But still
Someone's lucky token
Perfect at a glance
But give her a chance,
She'll disappoint you
Her sadness will make you blue,
Thinking she was a challenge,
Spur a chase
Her dignity avenge;
But she's not
An exclusive prize
Like anyone else
She breaks down and cries,
Someone's already
Knocked on her door
And broken in
Divulged the folklore
Cracked her
Like a fortune cookie
She's no longer a mystery
Accessible to all
Accepting any collect call
Hold her up to the light
And see the dings and scratches
You can sand and buff
And you just might
Bring out the gloss;
See how the sunlight still catches...

Precious stones
Amount to plenty,
Found in places
Far and deep unknown,
Whilst I searched
For that one jewel that would
Place a twinkle in my eyes,
Far and wide
Through night & day,
Throughout the four known hemispheres,
By land; sea, sky time & space,
Miles turned to days; endless years
I searched to no avail; hopeless
There was no treasure map to guide me,
Just a thought; a wish; a plea,
But just as my travels an end had sought
I turned to look around me
Home once more,
And there I realized
At least not late,
I had sought the wrong treasure
It was there all along
Within my grasp,
She; my love; my life; precious diamond
Her eyes shining stars; which long ago
Had captivated me; and made her
The beautiful apple of my eyes,
A fool was I...

When the morning air wakes me
Crisp and chill;
It's a whole new day
As my first thoughts begin to form,
I'm aware
Not of the day that is to be
Or what I am to do or accomplish;
But that there is someone close
Whom I hope never parts;
Thought I do not wake by her side
She is there nearby
Getting ready for her day,
I wish to greet her
To see a smile; hear her voice,
Just to glance upon her eyes
Because she is;
The start of my day
The feeling that wakes me,
My every other thought
Every other breath,
She keeps me awake until
The night falls and I sleep again,
And I hope she'll always wake me
Once more; forever more...

One at a time; word by word
They’re laid down like a heavy sword,
Each line forms more syllables come together
A long boundary without a tether,
Sentences not by a judge
That form stories without a smudge,
Short tales; epic poems
Sometimes of reality or of golems,
At times speech is not enough
So I take pen to paper like wax to buff,
When signs and gestures don’t make the cut
The ink flows forth like intestines from my gut,
Things I said once without meaning
Written on paper come out gleaming,
Once in a while the sweetest verse
Can come across solemn and terse,
And formal expression on occasion
Can command a standing ovation,
Yet sometimes I fear profound
That without texture; flavor or sound,
All my sentiments will die
Unable to illustrate a sweet apple pie,
Because it’s just as good to feel; taste & listen
As text to the eyes do christen...

Among my thoughts and woes
I’m the only one that knows,
From your silky hair
To your pretty toes,
You are the most
Beautiful rose,
Amidst a field
Full of butterweeds
I’m broken down on my knees
But no one can hear my pleas,
Might as well be
Screaming overseas,
Like a ship lost
At the edge of the bay,
You like a lighthouse
Show me the way,
I await you in the morn
Like the first sunray,
Thank you for being you
You make my day...

Any price I'd pay
For the sun to shine,
For the flowers to bloom
For a breeze to play with your hair,
All this I wish
To give to you
As if it were mine,
Just to get you out of that gloom,
Just to brighten your eyes
Take away that stare,
Any price I'd pay
For a jester to make you laugh
For a handsome man to love you back,
For the world to do your bidding,
Of all the things
I want for you,
This is only half,
If it were up to me
Nothing you would lack,
You'd be sitting pretty knitting
Nah, I take that back I think
You'd be laughing
Singing; beautiful in pink,
Not a care in the world,
Not a frizz in your hair
Whether it's straight or curled,
Any price I'd pay
To put the wind under your wings
To give you many wonderful shiny things,
For you to experience pleasure
Unbridled and without measure,
Any price I'd pay just to see you smile
A sight so dazzling;
I could see it from a mile...
