At this hour Children sleep
Among the darkness people creep
Beyond the shadows there is light
Couldn't stand this endless fight
Defined lines in her drawings
Every picture echoed a memory

Forgotten people rested in her mind
Grilling burning thoughts of past times
Her loneliness made her grimace
Intentions were all but to finish
Jokes and riddles crossed her mind
Killing past interruptions
Losing everyone made her go cross.

Movements she made were very small
Never making sound at all
Perfectly graceful she seemed
On her face the light beamed
Quite a beauty light shimmered
Reflection in the water glimmered.

Surrendering her fears
Trickling tears
Under perfect melody
Variation symphony
Welcome to an unknown world
Xanadu for a helpless girl
You can help her if you please
Zoning out she rests in peace.

angry eyes
listening ears
yelling and screaming
tears appear
a slap in the face
a punch in the eye
a heart of fear
and a mouth of sighs
a thump on the floor
closing my eyes
how much more
until i die

She had heart of darkness.
I couldn't hold my head,
Nor my eyes to the sight.
As she closed the sides down
On the bug canopy,
I took another one away.

As she says to me,
"There are two of you, don't you see?
One that kills and one that loves."

I feel as if I've swallowed
Straight razors and snails.
Napalms and A-bombs.
Palm trees once beloved green
Blown to smithereens.

Wild and over grown
Everything and everyone.
Gardenias equal sweet peace.
Real freedom stings when
It's nothing but the "peoples"
Stark opinions of themselves.
Streaming blank bamboo shoots
Into the night's black iris.

Shadowy figures
Bend triangles into shape:
To straighten you out,
To put you down.
(Don't let them)
Their methods are unsound
Yet, I see no method to be found.
I see only the cauterized remains of
Arms, legs, hands and feet
As they sit and swing
Grossly from the burning palm trees.

There's something happening out here.

The man is clear in his mind, but his soul is mad.
He is dying, I think.
He hates all this.
He hates it!
He reads poetry out loud!
And in a voice. . .
Oh, this man and his forces.

It smelled like slow death in there, malaria, nightmares.
It was the end of the river, all right.

The great stone face of the temple shone out
As we began to fade out
Into the end. . .

Oh,

"The horror, the horror. . .**"
Inspired by the classic movie, Apocalypse Now.
If you haven't seen it, I suggest you do so immediately.

I'm sick.
One minute I'm dancing with angels
And the next I'm crying on the shoulder of
Lucifer himself.
I'm a double spy,
One who doesn't even know which
Side she's on.
No, I won't answer any questions,
Because I don't know;
I simply don't know.
Look away, don't dare try to
Take a glance inside my heart.
It's gone somewhere, it's being pulled
To pieces by the heavens and
The hells.
They have it, you don't and
Neither do I.
I'm a heartless ***** who's dying
To love and be loved and who's dying
To be a someone,
To be a real person.

Sometimes walking down
These midnight streets
With little light on my path
Just my feet to carry me
Scattered thoughts
She pops into my mind
Losing all balance and concentration
Straying into the darkened streets
Two lights peering from around the corner
Like the devils eyes staring at my soul
Just before it hits
I see her behind the wheel
I awaken gasping for air
Clutching onto my pillow
Staring out of my window at the street lamps
The clock ticks 12:01
like it does every night without her
Just the same repeating nightmare I tell myself
I lay my head back down
Tears crawling down my cheeks
I scream at the top of my lungs
“WHEN WILL THIS NIGHTMARE END!?”
…..and when can I start to feel better?

As you count
The number of
Times the sea
Kisses the shore
I count how many
Freckles I will
Have to kiss
Before my lips and
Your cheeks
Become well
Acquainted
