i think it is beautiful
that poets,
from all over,
are able to gather here
to share what we
have a passion for.
and there are writers,
who would rather
write about the bright side
than the darkness,
and there are others
who are comfortable doing
the opposite.

to create something lovely,
we write by ourselves,
but we are also writing
together.
and i am not sure if
this is as sincere
as i would like for it to be,
but i want to say thank you
for writing with me.

I wish I could tell you how
you make me feel
like ten thousand stars
are nothing compared to your eyes

and I wish I had the capability
to describe the butterflies
that occupy the entirety of my tummy
whenever you are around

I want to be able to let you know
that your smile brings sunshine
to the stormiest of days
and the darkest nights, alone

I want to tell you how I feel
when your arms wrap around me
keeping me safe from a world
of nothing but false love

I wish you loved me
like I loved you

I was walking down the stair
when I saw you there
your mane of hair
and haunting eyes were so gorgeous I swear
it made me stare
I didn't realize there was a pear
so I tumbled down the stair

I was flailing through the air
screaming in despair
cursing my impair
I'll be crushed like that pear
and you didn't even care
I closed my eyes in prepare
will my life end on this stair?

Suddenly you were there
catching me in your arms with care
as strong as a bear
you gave me a stare
your eyes shone with care
and I knew that no one could compare
the bond that we share

You made me fall in love with you,
first with your words,
then with your humor,
next with your smile,
then with your innocence.

You made me fall in love with you,
I fell fast and I fell hard.
It was as if someone came along
and dropped
a watermelon from the top of
the Empire State Building
as all the passerby's stood
in awe, watching it explode
as it hit the ground;
my heart being the watermelon.

You made me fall in love with you,
and I go mad every time
you say those three simple
words that mean the world to
those who receive them.

You made me fall in love with you,
and even if your 'I love you's' don't
mean what I want them to mean,
I will never leave you,
I'll stay by your side.
I miss the way you would kiss me with your words
And glue my fragmented heart back together with sweet lines of poetry, each time I felt it crumbling to pieces
I long for the days when I’d see my future reflecting off of your hazel brown irises
And the way they caressed my flaws with the softest glances of compassion
And just know that if I could burn any memory into the depths of my fracture-lined heart
It would be the first time you whispered those three beautiful words into my ear
Poetry is like an intimate lover

Touching you in places you only allowed yourself to see

It stirs deep rooted emotion

And like a true lover, places you face to face with the feelings you’ve buried so deeply

The boy breaks down
On a knee cold and alone
His heart screams,
Echoes void of space, time, or place
The faintest of whispers

Light steals the room
Blind fascination
Gestures suggestion
Come with me
Know of life and love
A voice splashing on the walls once dark

Pain?
No pain
I can see you're tired
The light may burn your eyes,
But I bring warmth
Please, come

Afraid, but willing
Hand out in faith
Darkness is black
The light is gone
As is the boy

Alive with the glory of love.
