I entertain the whims of fancy
To gray Reason - antidote
Aloft on tides of Imagination
In modernity - remote

I dare to dwell in dream, romance
On which my Heart - inebriate
I chase perennial spirit of Passion
In which purest Love gestate

I roved on a breeze,
Searching for the sounds that snare,
Ah! I’ve reached the seas!

Music of the beach:
In clement climes calypso
Sounds riot, mad, hot.

The kooky notes bounce,
Calling limbs to undulate,
Putting spark in them.

It's celebration,
Worship of life, love, laughter,
Expressed in bold style.

Limbs swing loose, the dance
in zest protests the squat, staid sky,
as bleak as a dirge.

Another music:
Waves crush, crashing over me,
Sounds like maracas.

Churning itself the
Sea has enigmatic sounds
Off the spectrum of

Perception. Our ears,
Too blunted by the loud world,
Hears sea’s beauty not.

Ocean's nocturne lost,
Sea-creature symphonies that
Elude our dulled ears.

Too fine tuned for ads,
telly, society's safe sounds
which cut, sever us

from the raw, primal
sounds of the earth, the sounds which
hide in shells, caves, seas.

Man's sound is sullied
In nature's eyes, we are just
White noise, meaning nil.

Roving home I stop,
Thinking of ways to listen
to her speak her soul.

Who will listen to me verse at tedious length?
Upon the ways that you ignite,
A poet's heart, fill it with mettle and strength,
Pity, peace and delight.
If I could write the ebullience of your Heart,
In to sublime, divinest verse,
Who would care to hear that truth ringing out?
Across the flowering universe.
Who would commit their dwindling time,
To hearing all that I hath writ,
In letters and in rhyme,
The way in which I dost immortalise thy spirit.
So long as I can write and see,
I will commit to immortalising thee.

Why do they spurn my advances?
Did I come on too strong?
But - I'm overwhelmed by Love
Indelible as Song

Why can't they just try me?
And dabble in my heart
But they think it's not to their taste
And so we stand apart

O, if I could hold thee
In the depths of night
I'd forbid myself another joy
For you are eternal delight

Why is thou, my Muse, bereft of care,
For all that my Heart doth hold in esteem?
To take a risk, perchance, to dare,
I divulged the diamond of my dream,
Of kin hearts united by love's native genius,
That knows not church or nation,
To labour for her treasure is a task grievous;
For she is meant to give with no ration.
Yet thou dost insist on our being cleft,
A fuel to incessant infatuation,
I give my Heart till there's nothing left,
In hope of effecting persuasion.
But to thee no plea can e'er be made,
Thou dost dwell in the jaded cynic's abade.

Wild flowers are falling
Falling through my mind
Every petal open
Every petal kind
In primeval colours
And a time set free
Those wild flowers are falling
Falling over me

Everywhere that's living
Everywhere in bloom
Every mote of nature can't be yielded to a loom
All the parts we're missing
Grown beyond the tomb
Wild flowers are there
Wild wild flowers

My mind is running wild
The fruition of my inner child
May my world be bright with dreams
That come in streams upon a beam
I'd leap at the horizon
Beat wings upon the moon
Touch bonny rainbow on and on
Through which fierce fires bloom
Megan Sherman Mar 2018
THE wild wing beat from bloom to bloom
With magic, dazzling revelry
At noon, a sight on which to swoon
In resplendent majesty
And divinest beauty
Come hither close: sit on my palm
Enamoured of thy charm

Bade that I would praise supreme
As long as birds sing to the sun
Wings paint with pallet got from dream
Two stain glass panels -- one
God decorates for fun
Scatters critters world around
Till tapestry done -- gold web spun

Winged souls be messengers

From the higher realms

We the wearied passengers

Of Life, God at the helm

Birdsong symbolic of creation

Angels deliver Truth

Butterflies? Heavenly attraction

Of Beauty rare forsooth
Megan Sherman Mar 2017
His strategy has heart in it
Imbued with a just and compassionate spirit
Putting all at the heart of his endeavour
To ward off the ominous, evil weather
That doth the truest path inhibit

Love conquers all, as Shakespeare said
A truth to bring life to the dead
Who have the spell of evil read
Around them the sublime hippie treads

Weaving souls together with magic threads
Their awakening the evil dreads
But minds will open, hearts will see
Mouths will speak, we will be free
The 5000 fed with a loaf of bread

With a contusion sought for Love,
As care withheld by foes who smite,
Did they see me wheeling, rove?
And cover me in darkling spite?

Then thine humour penetrate,
Beleaguered fence around my heart,
Make the pupils, veins dilate,
As minds frolic, in mutual rapport,

The ****** diamond of my soul,
You sweetly, like a saint, restore,
Sees diamond as beauteous ornament,
Not a pawn of colonels war.

All that I am and that I know,
You fast revolutionised,
There is nowt I can do to show,
My thanks I have surmised.

To friends of me, I'm friends of them,
They stir the sorry heart,
My soul sits on God's diadem,
And gift of grace imparts.

Within me – there is mystery
Inside me – there is history
My soul – the enigma
Of me. But the clouds of dullen gray
That hide my self away
Shield my sorrow and stigma

Twas good when I would let
My spirit pirouette
With the miraculous unknown
But now my passion is stilted
And my heart is tainted
By all that it has known
Megan Sherman Nov 2016
With love I come with a song for you
It’s syncopated by our hearts
The message is keen and pure and true
And longs to make of our bond an art
It’s played by an orchestra of angels
Harping on a lofty lyre
Their heavenly hands can handle
cradle and seize the divine fire
To transcribe from love to life
Must be the purest of notation
Like words and notes are a sculpting knife
I hone a work of pure creation
The muse has been imploring me
And it has not relented
But for having been inspired by you
The music is more augmented
I think if kindred hearts would open
Song would pour out from the rift
Its dulcet tones would lull us home
As we start to dream and drift

With my candle at the canvas -
I gaze - upon the face -
Of lass - immortalised - in art -
Accentuated Grace -
Her mood - disposition -
Speak out through pained strokes -
Her lips need not have parted -
To have - sonorously - to me spoke -
Satiating vision -
Sight totally immersed -
In colour - hue - tint -
Distilled by fire blessed.

With one smile, love, with one smile
I became a captive for you
Through my heart a warm breeze blew
For having seen a soul so true
With one smile, love, with one smile

With one kiss, love, with one kiss
We danced resplendent in the shine
Of Lover's sun, we intertwined
I've never felt a soul so kind
With one kiss, love, with one kiss

With one embrace, love, with one embrace
You sent me flying sideways
One touch sent my heart ablaze
Enveloping me in Love's warm haze
With one embrace, love, with one embrace
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
With words you crushed the essence of my existence
Reducing, diminishing me to your evil yoke
My murdered psyche had to put up resistance
So it entertained me for days with the cosmic joke
Armed with the hand that God gave me
I was able to transcend my piercing pain
Lay the foundations of a new beginning
And start my Self all over again
To think that you thought you were winning
That you had me scalped
When I got the new beginning
For having had divinest help
    O insight nourishes my mind
    After psychic assault unkind
Megan Sherman Nov 2016
Wondrous is the word that wakes
The slow and slumbering mind
To the magic of reality
Oft forgotten, left behind
Like letters sent from heaven
Words adorn our ears
Matter gleams with meaning
Wherever they appear
In earnest writers herd their words
In to magnificent parade
Treating us to multitudes
Of visions that cascade
Words can shock, surprise and snare
When you don’t know to expect them
There are more words in a human mind
Than colours in the solar spectrum
Words speak of possibilities
We might not entertain
Worlds are woven in to view
A tapestry aflame
With words we can make sense of things
With words meaning roves
But best of all words permit us
To communicate our love

DAY

Lo! As the mad and magical hour rise,
Sun rides gold chariot in to skies;
Spite of the reaper's darkling doom,
Have nature yielded, captive to a loom;
Brickwork and briar cage the rose,
Craves for heady freedom's fulsome throes;
How her buds swell, ripen and gestate,
With luscious lust for life insatiate.

MAGIC

And so, with God's wand,
Adorn me with sparks,
From curve of hand,
That carve time's arc,
Wild needs must ask,
For freedom, play,
In immortal furnace,
Of magic day.
Megan Sherman May 2018
The world turns bright, it's Summer's height
I lie restless on the grass and play
As Sun's fierce light, in cosmic flight
Inspire worship of the ray.
Megan Sherman Feb 2018
Would a mind walk yonder,
Till, it reach light,
Gold bask in wonder,
Immortal delight!

Colour--streams of dreams,
Drift in to view,
Lucid on a beam,
Of splendid light hence flew!

World--how it blossomed
Life with Love replete,
Begets the journey:
For wanderlust feet.
Megan Sherman Dec 2016
Would angels walk upon the Earth
They'd walk with tender treads
Going silently between us
Weaving magic threads
That unite our souls invisibly
And embed in them a gentle flame
Which marks the soul indelibly
And gives it a golden frame

I wish angels would walk upon the Earth
But they're devoted to the sky
Where their spirits soar and saunter
Going ever gracefully by
But we are not without them
For their blessings pour on down
In the dreams they bring to me
I'd love to drift and drown
Megan Sherman Aug 2021
Would angels walk upon the Earth
Men would fathom spiritual birth
Would cosmic passion touch our souls
It would dissolve all spirits' walls
Would Hearts be guide by Heaven
We'd go wild, like happy heathens
Would magic burst the bubble of the real
The knowledge of ancients we would steal
Megan Sherman Aug 2017
Would demons - dwell - amongst us -
They would to - illusion - shill -
Rendering all Beauty Earth - sweet - has -
As devoid of thrill - passion killed -

Summoned - from a wicked heart -
In which - no flowers grown -
Doth - creed of hell impart -
Unto inferior spirit known -
Megan Sherman Aug 2017
Would God grant me his powers,
I'd bring love unto all thy hours --
Imbue thy life with light;
Send thee flights of Angels,
With hearts on their lapels --
To shroud thee in their chapel;
If Jesus' miracles were mine,
I'd heal thy spirits brine --
Apply salve to sullied soul;
For a captive the Gods repine,
So they fortify their shine --
Send messages in divine creole.
Megan Sherman Feb 2022
Would life ***** a challenge
Within my path to bliss
I would seek the henge
By gods and spirits kissed
A portal to the ancient time
That’s gone and very missed
Beget to me the bardic rhyme
In I, the music, tryst
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
Would Cherub point their gilded dart
At slumbering, majestic heart
Shot through unexpecting back
Heart would tremble for passionate attack
That the babes of Heaven start

Would Angels wield their towering harps
As they loom and lounge and lark
Gliding gracefully in packs
For divinest music they have the knack
Enchanting, enamouring, beauty stark

Would Seraph singing sweetly
Come visitly me discreetly
Aura drenched in colour
I'd praise her all the hour
Arranging altar neatly
Megan Sherman Apr 2017
Would you dare and would you dream,
Where lucid streams of beams beget,
The truth of what can truly be,
Which inspires us with its astonishing gleam.

Paths that cross on Heart emboss,
The soul with fragile lines of poetry,
Mercy, pity, therein we are free,
Two truths that soar divine like albatross.

Be our blessings so: what's mine is yours,
Be our time bold, bloated with magic,
So that our journey be epic, mythic,
As flutterby moments yield to a multitude of hours.

You are wild and beautiful
Like a tiger - burning bright
Like aurora borealis
A light that fortifies the night
You - immortal - sublime
Like a fierce feeling - Love
I hail thee - in sweet salutations
Rings around - above
Megan Sherman May 2017
You gave me, Love, a mystery -
A mystery most coy,
A scholar couldn't decipher it,
If she were given a day.

You gave me words that hurt my brain,
And heart, it angered me,
But, if as you say, Love is not our domain,
Why your passionate intensity?
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
You grow flowers in the garden of my heart
Tending to every fledgling blossom
Allowing the luscious light of love to impart
A clarion call to exquisite action
The blooming flower rosy flourishes
In every periphery
O ruby Sun, the truth of its Love nourishes
Light is the spirit's entreaty
O Love you plant the healing flower
That soothes and quells my fear and stress
It has exquisite power
For it I feel blessed
O Light of Love, for you I need
Bend to teach me, a woeful seed
Megan Sherman Dec 2016
You harness a talent, do you not -
A special skill that can't be taught
Conveying multitudes contained
In the purity of thought

You harness a talent, do you not -
A blessing from the divine
A talent that flowers and towers tall
Diminishing the stature of mine

You harness a talent, do you not -
The potency of your vision
Is such it's truly frightening
Dividing words with fission

You harness a talent, do you not -
Stay aside my stoop and sing
Your warm, effulgent songs of joy
Which give your life to everything
Megan Sherman May 2017
You'll never know how loved you were,
Till I am called to die,
Only then, Love reveals its plan,
When Heart's descent is nigh,

The stoicism you recite,
In strong and sultry verse,
Did not myself enamour me,
To the King that you rehearsed.
Megan Sherman Aug 2017
Your Beauty taught me awe
Myself a pilgrim rapt
In ecstasies - as saints could boast
Blisses on them crept

It sauntered in to vision
An unusual hue
And I regarded all contusions
To catch a glimpse of you

Adorned in aura unique
Absorbing - to an eye
Of Nature? Curious freak
Becoming as Day
Megan Sherman Aug 2017
You're right - there is a darkening pall -
To which I have been - in weakness - betrothed -
Only few have returned from fires from whence I burned -
Seared with lance - a torture only craven soul learned -

It's true - the path is treacherous -
But in spite of hell bear aloft thy flame -
He tells the truth because it paid -
To not put ones soul up for trade -

And after empty chants of death -
There be a song that swells -
Elusive by hearts too cynical to hear -
Freedom swell - with decibels -
Megan Sherman Dec 2016
Your spirit taught me gratitude
Myself bereft of it
For having been consumed by want
A habit with no merit

Your spirit taught me gratitude
Twas wonderful to feel
Stoking deep within my soul
Feelings most real

Your spirit taught me gratitude
Your spirit taught me grace
Your spirit taught me how to laugh
Sad memories erase
Megan Sherman Oct 2017
It's time to make the world anew
Along the lines of pity, Love
Be a peace in which hope grew
Forever in that moment rove
Strive to know what just and true
Walk softly to that golden grove
As zephyrs of wisdom blow through you
That imperishable knowledge for which you strove

— The End —
