My Precious
Megan Sherman Aug 2017
You make me weep with inspiration for the future
Kindling most gracious, refined aspects of souls nature
That instinct for a fearless future freed
Unencumbered by tyrants dictums wantonly decreed
Devils decidedly a slumbering breed
Who indulge only in darkling deed
To hurtful aims of lesser, callous soul devote
A sight which Mary saw and smote
Ferrying light to luscious babe
Through whom gods inspiration rage
You can throw dirt at us for an age
But we will wallow sublime, reading off hippie page
Fake heathens think they know the score
But they know not John's wild heart is irresistible to adore
Have they sense they would to John implore
For forgiveness, having ended their puppet wars
Megan Sherman Nov 2016
With love I come with a song for you
It’s syncopated by our hearts
The message is keen and pure and true
And longs to make of our bond an art
It’s played by an orchestra of angels
Harping on a lofty lyre
Their heavenly hands can handle
cradle and seize the divine fire
To transcribe from love to life
Must be the purest of notation
Like words and notes are a sculpting knife
I hone a work of pure creation
The muse has been imploring me
And it has not relented
But for having been inspired by you
The music is more augmented
I think if kindred hearts would open
Song would pour out from the rift
Its dulcet tones would lull us home
As we start to dream and drift

At Noon
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
At Noon I went out to see the theatrics of nature
Like a beau blooming babe, she swelled and shone
I was utterly enchanted by the mezmerizing creature
Ascended to her resplendent throne

Can I ask, earthly mistress, to feel thy touch?
To sense the smooth of your hands 'gainst my skin
It would charm me, and I'd cherish it very much
Were I to know something of Earth as kin

Embrace my libations at thy earnest altar
And drench me in your ancient blisses
In your enveloping care I never faltar
That's why I crave your tender kisses

Drunk On My Heart's Music
Megan Sherman May 2017
Drunk on my heart's music,
I live, fated to sing,
A riot most illustrious,
Borne aloft on Heaven's wing,

But a mad and melancholy dirge,
Entered my refrain,
When you trod softly, ever softly going,
With gun, across my brain

Thread Of Love
Megan Sherman Aug 2021
Through time, through space, a thread of love
Its totem, enchanted turtle dove
The pure perfection of the spheres
At which the humble spirit peers
As they survey the world above

The world of Gods is ever near
Making miracles appear
Music from the angel's heart
Fills eternity, no end, no start

For Heaven is a work of art
In which all souls play a part
The cosmic music emanates
To Earth from heavenly estate
And dissolves the cold ramparts

In to the Beauty of the world,

O Muse, thou art a maker of tireless melody,
Who with thine scintillating passion maketh my own less illustrious,
Thou art the source of - yet anodyne to - my tender malady,
For thine assiduous affections I have clamoured industrious.
Should your song run dry and run out of harmony,
And the coda finally end,
You truth will be nevertheless understood for thy cosmic symphony,
A truth that Heaven dare not forfend.
O let my lust be reciprocal,
Or my own Heart's strength will decay,
Upon thee I have been attentive, focal,
For hope that thine Heart could assuage my dismay.
Yet away with me, I hear you say,
Administering poison in the fifth act of the play.

I Don't Know
Megan Sherman Feb 2019
Bewildering, a torrent rages,
Inbetween the bone cages,
Of my heavy head and empty chest,
I yearn for those rare moments I appreciate I'm blessed,
Instead of chasing meanings,
Threading together conspiracies,
The greatest conspiracy,
That you may be cruel,
I'm not that much of a fool though,
To really think that for too long
But just long enough
That hell breaks loose

To A Muse:
Megan Sherman Apr 2017
Because for you in Love I scribed,
     And now I chastened lie,
A bitter Truth I have imbibed;
Of how hearts come to die.
For metaphor of Love I yearned,
It's kin to stars' bright, zesty burn.

But don't be fooled to think that I,
Devote all I hath writ to you,
For man who stamps on butterfly,
Is not the one to woo.
I am a poet, touched by joy,
There will be another boy.

The Bigger Heart
Megan Sherman Mar 2018
I wore my love upon my sleeve
but ******* bear the pain
love then was not my soul's reprieve
'twas only my demise, disdain
which I dared voice, a poorest choice
friends left me cold in rain
and now those friends, but memories
bade goodbye in this refrain

I held him in highest esteem
despite my tone of spite
which only for the loss of love
who set my heart alight
our minds had kissed in wholesome tryst
but to other he take flight
so I drift upon the mist
in the dying of the light

I yet still wear love on my sleeve
let ******* knock me down
ones to gloat rather than grieve
as my misery buzz round town
it may be time to up and leave
but for heartache I have grown
the bigger heart? worn on the sleeve
as the judges deign to frown.
Megan Sherman Aug 2021
I am myself the bride of doom
Betrothed to the dark
Orchids in my heart abloom
My spirit wears the mark

But ready am I for the light
Unless I it has forgot
Waiting for my spirit's flight
Out of the rancid rot

And me - I know my destiny
Megan Sherman May 2017
And me - I know my destiny,
I heard it whispered soft,
A revelation in the mind,
On Love's light borne aloft.
The mind - astound - had queried it,
And asked out once again,
Is it true, that say you,
I write with Shakespeare's pen?
I went with words, went with wits,
To conjure wanton worlds,
Alight for the truth cross my mind writ,
Peace, at last, in my inner child.

On Angels Wings
Megan Sherman May 2017
On Angels wings the children go,
O'er horizons, touching rainbows,
Soaring, sauntering, in the sky,
Going e'er gracefully by,
Light raining down like snow.

They are the babes, in days gone by,
They saw the sunset in the sky,
Lived, felt love, and now they lie,
Where daises dwell and grow.

But in Heaven they jump and run,
O'er it's valleys, under its sun,
God's truth be theirs, they wave it proud,
Sung in song that's long and loud,
A truth for everyone.
Megan Sherman Dec 2016
I wonder - do I count at all?
Or am I just a speck
On the infinite tapestry of the universe
In longitudes outstretched

For looking in one could be forgiven
For centering the self
But such a vain obsession
Will put thee in bad health

Be looking outwards to receive
The beauty of the world
Dwelling within Nature's show
Her majesty unfurled

These things
Megan Sherman May 2021
These things I feel: that love is pure
One’s Heart the muscle of prayer
Love’s chambers behind Heaven’s door
Benevolent spirit dwells in there

These things I see: the dancing wilds
Faeries with bells and feathers on
A sanctuary for the inner child
Down valleys, in rivers run

These things I hear: the baby birds
Whose music never dies
Who sing rather than do the verbs
Voice deeper than the skies

These things I smell: freedom’s air
Liberty for all
Peace, the mistress who end despair
And dissolve oppression’s wall

These things I taste: the kiss of sun
Passionate fire of celestial disc
Through which the cosmic fires run
For which Icarus pledged risk

These things I know: that life is love
That nature is a hymn
Sung to flights of angels
Those glorious cherubim

Dreaming, rocking to and fro?
We are the bards, see how we go,
Our path takes us high and low

Do I dissect its composite colours like Newton,
Captured in a noble prism, sounds similar to prison
Or do I reverently give gratitude that it is available to my perception
And a raging furious blaze, symbol of life's circular direction

The truth of bows iridescent beauty hath rapt us in throe
The torch of nature liberated from lordly grip be ours to hold
In streams of dreams and fires of gold
Sat beneath the cosmic arch brooding in desire and woe

I fear of us we'll come to harm
Although I know your spirit warm
And deep, endearing your charm

Instead, my dear, I beg of you
To let me fly with my sisters
Who'll quell and soothe my spirit's blisters
With balm of Love, passion's mixture

You're blessing but you see me cynical
Cast ghosts on me, that make me cold
The judgement my mind appalled
As if I had been cut down, felled

Bestow the act of greatest kindness
And sever the yoke around my Heart
Let me, curious, depart
And my future start

And now I am most different
For that feeling most magnificent

To be brushed by generosity
But he's baffled by my moods
And my foulest words, so crude
And we're destined to dwell in animosity

How well we know what the wild things do,
As Nature riots in the throng:
And there, her soul true, resplendent hue,
The creatures' voice unite in song,
Suffice to poets woo!

II.

Find me by the fire log, my friend,
While the sparks crackle as the magic flows,
Whose beauty Heaven dare not forfend,
Hath pilgrims rapt in throe,
As visions apprehend.

III.

Till the young ones gathered, bud and grow,
Here we are one, by no faith cleft,
By no reason I can show,
Are we of common Love bereft,
Hath pilgrims rapt in throe.

As opposed to those who learn
Only yield to magic flame
To maul - maim - burn

Gold leaves, wisdom's currency
Meditation quickens their drift
Scattered fierce and flung far burnished
Bright in streams and dreams
We toss them in sacral fire
Their ashes incense carrying
Our hopes, yield to deeds
As we commit our element
Fire; peering in a soul embarks
On a quest to find its passion
An art adorned by lightning sparks
That make of peace an earth an oath
Hearts as kin in inviolate pact
To cry for love and so I it's love I cried
In fathoms like an ocean pure and wide
That from unchained heart liberal bleed
All hope for all souls to be freed
The innate tongue of the loving tribe
Whose intuitive passion I strive to scribe
Beneath the fulsome crescent moon
A pearl encroached by rubber treads
Yet still her wisdom
Like leaf gold,
Eternal, bold,
Truth can't be clocked and sold
But through time to sages yield
For the planes of magic they have tilled.

Or make a bond less fond,
Angel is a fate that fits you well,
I wonder if you're resting there,
Laughing loud and cursing hell,
Chatting, smoking on your chair,

But, I think, you will not cease,
You will not stop or rest,
Till you see your kin at peace,
So with your light we're blessed
Among us you go with gentle treads,
Healing us with loving light,
Weaving golden magic threads,
So our souls may take flight.

So we can be strong, going on our way,
