The Light Of Life
Megan Sherman May 2018
Worlds adorned by the light of life
Do justice to sage, sweet Nature's march
Coy celebration - the birds, bees lark
As we praise and lust for life as proudest wife

Luscious, the evolution of a hearing Heart
Borne aloft by meditation on mantras told
Throughout time as verbatim gold
That doth wisdom of universe impart

We lived, felt love, but now we go
Searching for rainbow, high and low
Dreaming, rocking to and fro
Brooding in desire and woe

Our sublime destiny heaven dare not forfend
For Time ought to be the sublime friend

Flight Of The Angels
Megan Sherman Mar 2018
Drenched in teal, adorned by sparks
Bright, fierce, the churning stars
As to Heaven the wings embark
A voyage grand, afar
The moon soft scatters tender light
As rainbows tower, over clouds
Touched by angels, in their flights
Zoom past, clad in immortal shroud

O sweet and soft their fiery wings
On which they bright, aspire
As through them, all creation sing
Burnished with colours of desire
Zoom up and up, twirl, pirouette
In marvellous and majestic commotion
Circle the skies in wonderful roulette
Pure and deep and rare as ocean

Love is their life and their life devotion
Committed to triumph of God's Heart
Which churn with Love in incessant motion
Doth the creed of Peace impart
Hath angels singing adulations
In happy songs of happy cheer
Singing loud their celebrations
For the Lord, who's ever near
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
The Sun begun to caress the sky
As Lovers do with palms
She threw her warmth so beautifully
It could inspire psalms
The Butterflies did ballet
Over yellow daffodil
Tainted by enchanting pallet
Which fills the eye with thrills
The birds go questing for treasure
With little luscious beak
Engorged on Nature's cache
Before Southern wind they seek
O blessed spirits of the Spring
Through medium of you Creation sings

I capture every love I feel
Megan Sherman May 2017
I capture every Love I feel,
With coy and slanted word,
Imploring to my shepherd,
To admit me to the herd,
I wonder if they feel it too,
Or did they see straight through,
For being jaded, spirit faded,
Not the one to woo,
Hearts are born fated to die,
Aloft on Passion's hearse,
They say it most of Fame but I,
Think Love is bigger curse.

Song For The Child
Megan Sherman Mar 2017
When life is strife and life is hard
The elephantine child is cradled by the bard
And swung with glee from side to side
So passion and joy in his heart reside

Together they're forever friends
And for sins of earth do make amends
Traversing the fertile planes of world
They awaken souls to reprieve unfurled

Strange thing it what a shame it is
That friendships puzzles grow
That friendships waver, go amiss
That friendships chasms grow
The seismics of companionship
As, tectonic, we churn apart
Me, in climes, where snow doth drip
You, luxuriant, in summer's heart
The tiger, you, outpace my cat
As nature owns the plan,
I in laziness stretched, sat
You busy historian
But tectonics bring the rift
Full circle once again
Back the tiger and cub cat drift
Hearts never cleft in twain

I traced the darkling dens of life
To tiger's terse dismay
And felt so little of her strife
At first when I danced through the dying of my days
Hedonism pleased me so
I put it first for sure
I thought men with silly games
Were what my Love was for
But tiger suffice to inspire rebellion
Take arms 'gainst tyrant men in war
Love her to the power of a million
As cub cat flees the door
And nature owns the plan
As she and tiger on the tor
Put an end to silly man
As, illustrious, they roar
Megan Sherman May 2017
Surprisingly with no disdain,
To any caring soul,
The world deprives its children,
Of being fed and full,
The wealthy widow passes by,
The priest remains unmoved,
Alas, I guess, to get their bless,
Thine soul must be approved.

O Daisy, happy with life,
Who scatter the grasses like stars,
Doing sacred work of the Earth,
In which knowledge of purpose appears.

From whence the hippies steal away with desire,
And babes and brigadiers lie still for eternity,
Wherein the fine beauty of creation conspire,

The Daisy
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
On stem, a sight on which to swoon
Beauty, whose time is ever Noon
Buds in blossom vivid - fair
Imparting aroma to glimmering air
A petal for every hope and dream
Anchored in heart, proud, supreme
Presence commanded by the Sun
Through Daisy cosmic fires run
Nourishing her to her raw roots
As sunshine goes its gay commute
The Daisy with Love's light imbued
Converts sunshine in to useful food
Betwixt each flower go the bees
At most peculiar frequencies
Circling the flower's girth
Doing sacred work of Earth
Dutifully they pledge upon
Their life to keep life going on
The dance of Daisy needs no teaching
In awe of her I'm an evangelist preaching

Floods of Tears
Megan Sherman Aug 2022
I walked away in floods of tears
After you got your claws in me
I buried the pain over the years
And it rest at the bottom of my hearts sea

But memory beat the deep, deep fathoms
Your smile resurfaced in my mind
Dreams and love are not made of atoms
But consist of an ether, mysterious, refined

Which ought be welcome when it exhibits itself
Light which strikes and sparks the soul
Eviscerates portents of ill health
Connect us to the one and all

You repented for my hurt, as I did yours
But we burdened by toxic legacy
Yet my inner tiger roar
And will for us a future free

Of petty hostility that leads to hate
Hate, hate, an irrational state
So I serve my heart up on a plate
And try this union to create

Because in pain they absorb my tender blues
An illness that cannot be defeat by brains

A melancholy with no start, no end

Muses' Song
Megan Sherman Nov 2016
I drink my coffee
Prepare my paper and pen
Cast my mind, focus

On expressible
Beauty. Where does it come from?
I wonder and think

Inspiration ebbs
Through ventricles of my mind
Wild fire through dendrons

Elephants, angels
Amongst the panoply
Of earnest visions

In streams of dreams muse
Communicates. Fluent in
Creation’s language

Muse plants the candle
Of ferocious divine fire
In my minds and hands

I meditate, brood
Let myself be overwhelmed
By life’s fruits, fullness

Like plucking apples
I stretch to yield the harvest
Of muses’ bounty

Each new thought excites
Like rare exotic candy
Gives a wild sensation

I express my thanks
As consciousness is harnessed
To poetry, I

Wake to muses’ touch
Insatiate, inspired
For augmented song

i was haunted and stalked by a stare
looked up your email and it wasn't there
stone in my stomach as i think what you'd say
of my faith and ideas, want me away

and even though that reflex is so hard to break
at least your smile persuaded me of a mistake
did you see an angel cry with a heart pure?
sobbing silent as you swung open the door

my style is distance, running away
but that's not a problem when you want to play
with your ocean eyes, in your hideaway
we'll vanquish hell and seize the day

The songs of wizened, ancient lands
Doth ring on distant shores and sands
As Love the gift of Heaven doth send
Sublime rhyme, the bard transcend
Fathoming rainbows, touching stars
Begetting tender, sonorous bars
As Gods rage fury blaze in wars
Retold to history sung to lyres
For wisdom Sappho hath aspired
In awe of her splendour I hath desired
Poetess in Greece's mind embed
A fulsome passion flame of luscious red

Native genius running wild
Whirs in the mind of the inner child
Megan Sherman Jul 2022
Beyond the stratosphere
A majestic cosmos fruitions
And radiates light
That burgeons in the human heart divine
Despite being infinite light-years away

Beneath source, the final destination, the one and all
Young mystics ascend, their quest
Anointed with the approval of saints
Fully formed spirits pure as the core of a star
That transcend the transience of mortal incarnation
In their rebellious existence

Above the world, itself an illusion
Cosmic, angelic entities
A multifaith pack traversing a heavenly trajectory
Zoom, twirl and pirouette
In stunning array
Like light is to day

The order of the cosmos
Adhering to laws of nature
Themselves yielded partially to human knowledge in abstractions,
Theory, which, whilst awesome to behold
Eviscerates the spirit of the cosmos by objectifying it
And isolating it's elements in fractions
The scientist's sin

Their schemes have jilted and jaded the sky
Once supreme
The crown of a dream

Love is a living, breathing thing,
Let it be, cherish its wings,
Celebrate her mind, adore,
Her kindly eyes, which give child awe,
Love is the fattening pear on the tree,
That gives its bounty generously,
Love is the Rainbow; no start, no end,
Love is the sublime, cherished friend,
Who treads with soft paws light over the Earth,
Pleasing all creatures the breadth of its girth
Love sings at dawn when the birds all rejoice,
Filling the sound of the Earth with their voice,
Love's the way, to start each day,
Palliative to despair, dismay
For Love's companionship all souls do dare and strive,
With grateful thanks for her being alive.

I love you I am sure,
Hearts do not know mistakes,
Of no errors they partake,
So why your Heart at war?
At battle with mine own,
A woman overthrown,
Bleeding like colour from a star.

How did we grow apart,
On paths destined to cross,
I feel silences as loss,
Like poison in an arrow dart,
Each word, a barb, a sting,
Enervating everything,
Killing Love in flight like albatross.

Climb my wings of fire, sweet thing
Say sweet thing, climb my wings of fire
We'll soar, as all creation sing
Burnished with colours of desire
Where light beams beckon us to chase
Where love in latitudes apace
Where life live on in climes surreal
Bright stars drenched in sparks and teal
Sweet thing, to thee, this, my appeal

Where energy churns in flooding streams
Where angels haunt, hark, misbehave
Where fantasy is real, as dreams
And God, gold mountain, in a cave
Say, sweet thing, will thou climb my wing?
And soar through beauty of everything
Where Love is and hate is not
Where Love is and hate forgot
Sweet thing you live here in my thought

Say, sweet thing, climb my burnished wing
To see strange climes, her sweet fledglings
To live aside immortal flame
Which know not creed, religion, name
At once to live and immortal be
That's heaven - is rosy revelry
Time pass not - is still - and yet within
Her elements: incessant motion
Say, sweet thing, will thou join this gay commotion?

The land of light is pure devotion
And hear! Her music merry, knell
Pure, and deep, and rare, as ocean
Know not depths of dirge of hell
All past, all present, all as one
All it dreamt in God's fair head
One cosmos unite under sun
Knows not fear of mortal dread
Say, sweet thing, on these wings be led.

A tyrant's sham, illusion most uncouth
Betrays the people of Beauty, rare forsooth
People's wisdom doubted of its truth
When they the gift of Heaven duly hath
Forever incurring petty tyrant's wrath
The mannacles descend, and maim the mind
By devils with pretence they're so refined
They lead the lovers, whilst their own hearts blind
Freebirds sense direction of the wind
Sweet soar! The tyrants languish, left behind.

From immemorial time their lies assailed
Lady freedom, from whence the war cry wailed
See the lawmakers bring justice to her knees
Captive on their island on jaded seas
Too callous and remote to take her pleas
To breathe free air, stunning by degrees
But people will her return, to their shores
Her heart so irresistable to adore
Her triumph sweet foretold in ancient lore
Lo! The victory, the end of war.

She is an artist of reason, sharp and sure
Who creates a masterpiece from logic
Her thoughts have me ever craving more
For their sequence ascends like magic
A scientist she is yet an artist
Who creates out of the raw material of reality
Yet the magic strikes, with her it didn't miss
It's alive in her and goes with conviviality
Her entreaties are so spirited
Fierce, witty and wry
Her mind is uninhibited
As wide and deep as sky
To the east, she goes in wayward trance
Filled with the rhythm of the worlds romance

Should not I know what true love is,
My heart would not brood, nor syncopate,
In time with yours, for all our flaws,
The flower of my passion doth gestate.
Ah, the bitter surge of a poison word,
That courses, surges through my veins,
Sullies the ventricles of my devoted heart,
And doth inspire these melancholy refrains,
Whose worth to you be unintelligible,
For I am the Fool, captive on that ship,
But for Love even Fools are eligible,
For them even Love will stoop and dip.
Two lifetimes of Love with errors replete,
Still I writ this sonnet at your feet.

How do I fathom a rainbow?

We are the bards, see how we go,
Our path takes us high and low

Do I dissect its composite colours like Newton,
Captured in a noble prism, sounds similar to prison
Or do I reverently give gratitude that it is available to my perception
Rage the fury blaze, symbol of life's circular direction

The truth of 'bows iridescent beauty hath rapt us in throe
The torch of power liberated from lordly grip be ours to hold
In streams of dreams and fires of gold

The most beatific bliss

I dared not interrupt her
For fear that I might startle

And end her tender warble

Where I would be denied to swoon

Healed of caste that makes a rift
In the dominion that is not free

By minds too cynical to hear
My song swell with decibels

Would magic, fires of Heaven adorn thy sleep?
Dream ocean fathomless, 'nowt quench the thirst
As floats on water maiden, passion nursed
Aggrieved by ****** troubles, of endless deep
Yet her Heart a flower, of rosy revelry
Beget uneasy in twilight to the man
