The Joyful Ride
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
I wish I had a soul by which to abide
A sanctuary in which to hide
With saccharine sky - rapt I'd glide
In to blisses deeply tied
Succumbing to the joyful ride
And the blossoming inside
Enchanted, I would learn to forget
What fear and isolation beget

Thoughts
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
To change oneself in introspection
Is the gift of deep reflection
The Mind is a beautiful creation
Refined, aligned to meditation
Consists in it treasures untold
Perception a trickling stream of gold
I meditate more closely, the focus takes me higher
I feel the touch of cosmic fire
Vision is wide and deep as Ocean
To truth it must be in devotion
Sight will struggle to be free
From bars that cage it evilly
The Mind is built for communication
In it Ideas find respiration
Intangible are thoughts, but they
Can shine light, showing us the way

Untitled
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
I wish there was a way they'd see
The truest me inside of me
But their perceptions keep me chained
Unto a stereotype they imagined
Now I wish I had refrained
From saying anything, I have pained
For thought that that is how they think
Of me, at that my dead heart sinks
I used to sit and write, alight
But now to do it is a fight
Knowing how low is their esteem
For the things I feel and dream
I wish there was a way to free
The passion that's inside of me
Imbued with deep explosive power
Blossoming like exquisite flower
But they don't care what my heart is for
It swells and beats to love, adore
But their care has long run dry
And so I verse on sunless sky
Anguished for their spiteful gripe
My memory of them I try to wipe
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
The truest dream which came to me
Came violent and supreme
A lucid dream upon a beam
One without a seam

Drenched in golden aura
A goddess came to play
Dancing wild, by this meek child
Before the rays of day

Before I could embrace her
She winked and disappeared
The elephantine goddess
For whom I had revered

Of her I am enamoured
Of her I've grown quite fond
The fire in my art she is
Stoking divinest bond

Beyond The Veil
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
A veil of light and ashen grey
invites me to peer in to stranger day
fluttering and beckoning
behind it what is happening?
a smorgasboard of molten colour
winks at me, summons me near
I become swept up, in hurricane
that rolls and waves across the plane
of one reality in to another

'Tis here I feel my spirit brew
imbued with bright, celestial hue
deep in hinterlands of enchanting joy
where I ravish these pleasures coy
too overwhelmed to fight, resist
the very light with which I'm kissed
from famished eyes I am engorged
my tender spirit enlarged
on trajectory of bliss

On horizon, magic gestates
Leaves my spirit insatiate
Adorned by sparks phantasms brood
Lifting like hot air balloon my mood
Between chasm of magic and reality
Goes visions with conviviality
Enchanting the mind with true force
Summoned from natures magic purse
Which sprinkles havoc on normality

Forms of Beauty riddle my eye
With their heavenly symmetry
Godesseses of divinest shine
Beam soul-deep, from theirs to mine
Behind the veil of usual routine
Lies awesome truth with golden sheen
Nourishing the spirits belly
To magical shores the spirit ferried
Enamoured of most lucid of dreams

Good, Grace and Gifts
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
Beauty, you are a symbol of Good, Grace and Gifts
You swell like a sea with unfathomable treasure
The music of you I hear poured from the rift
Of Heaven, a song of illimitable pleasure

In your essence I want to wallow
It'd be a wonderful world to behold
The logic of your truth I want to follow
For it's glistening in gold

I want to keep you in mind and beside me
Surrounded by one so wild and free
Labouring to create the future, manifesting destiny
Singing of love locquaciously

Like Real Magic
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
Lover, to me, you are like real magic
And also yet like lucid logic
Abiding by exquisite ethic
Making me feel alive, beatific

My neurosis makes my words like bile
I understand if you find them vile
And if you want to run a mile
But I'll be sure to rue a while

Hope and Love are the truest feelings
All pray to them, in devotion, kneeling
Beneath their layers I am peeling
And am ashamed of the anger I'm always feeling

I want to play and win
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
I want to play a lucky flush and win your striking smile
A crescent moon adorned by sparks as wide and deep as miles
Creating a connection compelling you to beam back to me
With loving, luscious look attesting to Heaven's accuracy

Beckoning me to rise by your side you have me captured, mezmerized
As, in the pure reaction, the molecules of passion are synthesized
How many times have Poet's cried of Love
Like this, souls desperate to be intertwined

Enlighten me with what you know and make the cogs inside me whir
Frighten me with your vision and set my own vision astir
Envelop me like a bubble with the warmth of your desire
Grafting on Love's golden wings, we climb and glide and aspire

Magic In Motion
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
Touched only once by gilded dart
Twins aligned on path of heart
Orbit in heavenly romance
Enamoured of that joyful dance

Entering the sanctuary of you
A burning fire, through me blew
Cascading bright in brazen sparks
I come alive, and leave the dark

To be a poet, is my bliss
To see the sunshine as a kiss
To know no other joy as this
When magic strikes, it cannot miss

Swansong Of Spring
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
Stealthily the spring has arisen
Shuddering from Earth's cold prison
Budding bunches of Leaves astir
In wild song, the new bees purr
Vibrating as they please
At most peculiar frequencies
Circling the flower's girth
Doing sacred work of Earth
Sun kisses wan, pale cheek
Outwits the darkness, bleak
Begetting warmth to tender creatures
O, Sun, the glowing crown of Nature

My Loved One
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
My loved one can I caress your face?
To feel and fathom your tender grace
You are bejewelled cup filled with liquor
That makes me want to drink you quicker

My loved one can I feel you limb by limb?
Perfectly formed like hope or hymn
My appetite for you is insatiate
You deserve to be appreciated

From whence did you, like messenger, come
Making my heart feel at home
You're best comprehended by awe
Your spirit attests to divine law

Babbling Of Love
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
I am enraptured in blisses too divine to vocalise
When I am there, I feel the spark of the world
Which far outweighs any material prize
In my heart, adoration and affection swirls

Let me dwell in the imperceptible, beyond the well worn track
In thickets wild, unkempt and overgrown
And for communing with bliss, let me get the knack
Revealing multitudes of visions unknown

World is waking to go wild upon the call of Love
Love is magnificent, manifest and plural as galaxies
Those miracles written on the sky above
That envelop us in the Universal majesty

That Perfect Path
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
Compassion is accentuated by the prism of Love
The beauty of her touch a real stark shock
So please, Love, upon these feelings rove
And with silken hand at my heart knock

Show me the spectrum of human emotion
Show me the manifesting dance of bliss
Show me the meaning of pure devotion
Show me how to yield to passion's kiss

Once we agree to go that perfect path
We win at the Heart's vocation
Fixing our souls in the aftermath of Hell
With fine and exquisite action

Deep Serene Blisses
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
Heart struck by a beam, I am utterly enchanted
At risk of losing, I try to bear its heat
My Love, this is all that I've ever wanted
Without you no path for these naked feet

You are the song that rings out in jungles of joy
In sacharrine rapture your spirit rejoices
Begetting melody sweet and coy
With most tender and piercing of voices

Embrace the tokens of my respect
To you, my one and only appeal
Your smile stokes deep within my soul

At Noon
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
At Noon I went out to see the theatrics of nature
Like a beau blooming babe, she swelled and shone
I was utterly enchanted by the mezmerizing creature
Ascended to her resplendent throne

Can I ask, earthly mistress, to feel thy touch?
To sense the smooth of your hands 'gainst my skin
It would charm me, and I'd cherish it very much
Were I to know something of Earth as kin

Embrace my libations at thy earnest altar
And drench me in your ancient blisses
In your enveloping care I never faltar
That's why I crave your tender kisses

After I found you I am a lot less lost
O, beauty, how do we find rapport?
Your touch upon my soul embossed
Mysterious forces act upon the heart

With you as guide I find my way in the world
Embarking upon eternal dance
As Destiny manifests, her path unfurled
I take her on in joyful trance

I follow the path to the gardens of Love
Miracles written over the sky
As, cascading with passion, I rove

Megan Sherman Feb 2017
It burned - and burned -
That fulsome spark - of luscious red
It churned - and churned
Illustrious from spirit whence it ebbed

It grew - and grew
As nurtured - fed
It struck and sparked
A riot in my head

O flame - bid thee
Eternal life
To you - and only you

Megan Sherman Feb 2017
The Poet turned his mind to Sun
Through which cosmic fires run
Alight! For every brazen spark
That stokes the spirit to embark
On quest bereft of destination
Human heart in throe, gestation
I ask: What mortal joy is grander?
Than to be rapt by light as you meander?

And raise thy head in reverence
To a flourishing, divine sight
Fanciful as Rainbow's end
Pure as a soul in flight
Fires of gold he saw, at a glance
Adding its zest to the spring's gay dance

Glittering in resplendent hues
From all across the spectrum
Much colours did his eye amuse;
He didn’t know to expect them
He stood and sighed and thought: “How pleasant
To see the world turn iridescent!”

I want to marvel at the sky
As sunlight sneaks away
Yielding to majestic night
As colour bleeds from day

I'd leap at the horizon
Beat wings against the Moon
And touch the bonny Rainbow
Through which fierce fires bloom

I'd climb upon the stairs of heaven
For a better view of Earth
And behold her awed by splendour
Of her gestating girth

River of Gold
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
River of gold, endless treasure
Runs through valleys of my mind
I long to fathom it, joy of no measure
My mind's sky turned clear and kind

Thunder bolts as thoughts arise
I cannot let them pass my mind
In transcendental vision I spy
A true escape for the spiritually blind

'Tis truth I crave, not to be right
But truth is always an enigma
For her you must put up a fight
And tolerate the stigma

Bless the path my heart traverses
And I should find there Love's perfect kiss
Let my heart be cleansed of curses
To dwell in trajectory of bliss

A bolt of melody struck my head
When I had gone to sleep
When all the world dropped dead
And I'd prayed my soul to keep

Poetess in mind embeds
A torch of divinest shine
A fulsome flame of luscious red
That strikes and sparks the mind

As You Went
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
As you went, dear, as you went
My heart became a little lost
I didn't realise Love had cost
But now it haunts me as if Ghost
As you went, dear, as you went

As you went, dear, as you went
I danced alone in sullied mood
You inspired Love, yet feelings crude
Upon my peace, you intrude
As you went, dear, as you went

As you went, dear, as you went
There was a dirge, in my brain
A mad and melancholy refrain
I lust and long for Love again
As you went, dear, as you went
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
Midst wizened trees the ancient word
Blows through ears that strive to have heard
The magic medley of the land
The stirring Spring gestates her garland
Dribbling music to the bards

We are the bards. Long time ago
We dwelled and swelled in Nature's glow
We lived, felt Love, but now we go
Searching for rainbow, to and fro

Our path takes us high and low
To truth, which raptures us in throe
The torch of truth be ours to hold
In streams of dreams and fires of gold
Sat brooding in desire and woe

The Urchin And The Bard
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
She walks with rough and magic air
His words are rare, rare as care
Epiphanies dwell in there
His rhymes have rhythym, they strive, they dare
Begetting visions wild, rhapsodic
From tongue tender and melodic
Musings refined, methodic
Articulating life's magic
She sights him, stares, from the bar
Where has he been? Has he wandered far?
By what thing could he be marred?
She falls deep, she falls hard
A love as deep and wide as skies
Conveyed by the smile that's in his eyes
He has her, captured, mesmerized
As the molecules of passion are synthesized
How many times have Poets cried
Of Love like this, souls intertwined
Love, activity refined
Incessant, by no fence confined
Before she was waking to go blind
But now she sees; sees kindred kind
Out of the gutter he lifts her mind
Mutual treasures they do find
Still she walks with rough and magic air
To the beat of his words, rare as care
All joy and all love soars in there
You can sense it in his enchanting stare

Would Angels wield their towering harps

Gliding gracefully in packs

Enchanting, enamouring, beauty stark

Would Seraph singing sweetly
Come visitly me discreetly
Aura drenched in colour

Megan Sherman Feb 2017
O sunshine, beauty of the day
Who inspires worship of the ray
That nourishes the famished earth
Warms the breadth of my heart's girth
Goddess, from my mind erase
The burns I've earned from Lovers' blaze

Hast thou ever heard lament
Like this, of torture and torment
I yearn for Suns irascible smile
To be enamoured of her warmth and wiles
To fathom love and soar divine
And in fulsome heat be intertwined

Should thou abdicate from sky
I would tremble, wither and cry
A guardian, attesting to the care
Of heaven, you're proof it's there
A presence that commands the flowers
And gives light to lovelorn hours

What passion cannibalised my mind
What of me is there left to find
What did my artful love achieve
No success for my souls repreive

Alight, alight! That honeyed bow
Wends through sky, celestial arc
Imbued with bright and cosmic spark
Light about her dims as colour shows
Vivid, supreme, rainbow's girth
Envelops all the world and sky
As tender creatures go flitting by
Bow blooms in to view and lights all earth
To Rainbow's strength I have aspired
And for her fine beauty: who conspired?

Alight, alight! That hallowed sight
Swims in to mind, borne aloft
On lovely, gentle zephyr soft
Harbringer of eternal delight
Fierce the luscious hues and hot
The blazing fury of the bow
The spectrum of joy I, loving, know
A soothing sight above my cot
In distant deeps she manifests

In your heat our spirits fuse

There was a wedding in my brain
When in you cantered, like a train
Words like lightning, from electric mind
Crying: Love! For kindred kind
It sends me flying to outer space
To swim in sight of thy lovely face

The frenzy in my mad mind blazed
For touch of you I am amazed
Though now you spurn my longing hands
Despite me waving Lover's wand
The world is good (and good is true)
And more good for the life of you

If ever thou should be alone
And in distress thy maketh moan
Come hither, Love, I'll give care
Envelop you in perfect air

A Hymn To Sappho
Megan Sherman Feb 2017
O Sappho, prophet of the page
To whom the Greeks devote their age
Humbly true in gentle words
Full of spirit, passion stirred
Poetess, in mind embeds
A fulsome flame of luscious red

On glistening isle, on ******' shores
Sappho ruminates, adores
Rendering the usual world
In to magic truth unfurled
Written cross the sky in stars
Sung in time to ancient lyres

Her descant rings in metaphors
The earliest of troubadors
Enamoured of the wise, sublime
Conveyed in verse that transcends time
A most dutiful and diligent scribe
Gifting us, the reading tribe

Her vision ascends to immortal throne
Throughout time it sparkled, shone
Inspiring the future sages
To lust for verse and give up wages
To be a poet, that's her bliss
To see the sunshine as a kiss
