I use to know this person

Eyes like honey and the words just as sweet

From a distance you share the silhouette he kept

And when you whisper the voice seems to match

But no

There is an edge to your step

And when I’m scared you don’t have a shield

You see I use to know this person

But he must have gotten lost somehow

Or perhaps he has decided never to come back

When I look into you, I see him sometimes

The way you chuckle under your breath

The smile you let show when you sleep

But no

He would never let me sit alone in the dark

Or cry softly into my pillow

I mourn for him

Because I know he will not be back

Neither will the words he spoke while we lay in bed

The tenderness of his kiss

Or the way he would laugh at my silly jokes

But that is O.K.

Because I have the memories of him

And the silhouette of you
I would be married, but I’d have no wife,
I would be married to a single life.
Now that things are truly on the level -
That what I think of you,
And likewise, you of me -
Is clear in the open,
Swaying in the steady breeze of change,
Raised to the sky by the connection of lips,
Has drawn you ever more often
Into the train of my thoughts.

As if that was necessary,
Considering that before all of this
Not a beat of my heart
Passed without you on my mind.

The distance between us
That previously caused me grief and longing,
Now conjures a quiet and melancholy behavior
From one normally more rambunctious
Than the most playful puppy.

I still have fun and can be happy,
But nothing can compare
To that unparalleled exhilaration
Of standing near to you, holding you tight,
Wishing the world would hold still,
Even if only for a moment
To prolong that maelstrom of emotions in my head.

And the only thought that seems to creep into my head is -
          I miss you.
And if I had my way,
I'd keep you within arms reach forever.
All things come to those who wait.
Unfortunately, I cannot wait for life is but a flash and my youth is but the first spark of light.
I waited tho, for you, and like for so many others the wait was terminal.
I fear the way you love me:
That tender-touching kiss
Seducing me to nightly
Sink deep in your abyss.

Those smooth caresses take me
To places that I dread,
Your cunning fingers rouse me
To plan such lies ahead.

But while we writhe and tumble
In lust's hypnotic hold,
I fear the final stumble
That will see the truth unfold.

Try, try again Father always says,
So when things go wrong,
That's what's got to be done.
Never mind what words others will preach.
Don't bother with anything they say,
It's all flowery fluffed-up speech
That never got anyone anywhere anyhow.

Now times come when a fellow gets himself a little luck,
Something that makes him think he knows which end is up,
But Father says you can never account for that,
Because at the end of the day
That same Mister keeps on the same way,
And while that's all well and nice,
He's worse than praying that lightening strikes the same place twice.

So never give up, and never say die.
All you can ever do is try, try, try,
And as bad as it may ever seem,
It's always darkest before your dawn comes,
So if it isn't this time,
I know you'll eventually get it right.
As Father always says,
God be ******, it's a sin not to try.
You
Someone strokes my hair
And I want it to be You
Someone holds me when I'm crying
And I want it to be You
Someone tickles me, making me laugh
And I want it to be You
I go somewhere
And I want to go with You

My mind is one big empty space
In which I can almost
Hear You speaking
But when I turn up the volume
All I hear is static
