My Daddy Dear
Marian Nov 2012
You never know how you shed cheer
Into my life through all the year,
I love your poems, those hymns you play;
None save you can brighten each day.

Life without you would be such pain
I should never write poems again,
You will ne'er know my love for you
Until after this life is through.

You cuddle cats within your arms,
And make us happy with  your charms,
I'm so happy God gave me you!
You cheer me up when I feel blue.

You'll never guess, Daddy dear
How oft you've vanguished every fear;
Brightened my days with divine Love
For you I thank my God above!

Fisherman's Paradise
Marian Nov 2012
Gulls fly in the sky,
Way, way up so high,
The mountain soars up into the air;
Snow on the mountain is scattered everywhere!

The lake doesn't quite look like an ocean,
The Fisherman stands fishing paused in motion,
The pines around the mountain. . ----- everything reflects in the lake;
To you this place doesn't look real but for me this place certainly isn't fake!

The only blue in the sky is in the shape of a gull the rest is white,
I shall strive to see this place with all my might,
On one side there is a rocky bank;
The Fisherman is in shallow water so he hasn't sank!

The pine and fur trees are standing in a row around the base of the mountain,
I so want to see this place again and again,
The lake's water looks cold, clear and blue;
The Fisherman's back is turned towards us so he hasn't seen me or you!

The Fisherman is fishing but when he gets home he'll have his fish and cooked rice,
This place is so beautiful,
No wonder people call it;
Fisherman's Paradise!

In lands far away she lives from yesterday until today,

Castle In The Sky
Marian Nov 2012
I see the castle in the sky,
Way, way up so high,
Set up on a sand cliff;
Though so light it may look no one could it lift.

It is too way up high,
A castle in the sky,
I begin to cry;
I heave a surprised sigh.

The hidden sun (because of the dark-blue sky) hit the towers,
It is so beautiful it doesn't need or have any flowers,
The castle is too beautiful to be true;
Amid the sky of dark-royal blue!

The castle stands strong and tall,
I'll never forget the day you I saw,
Way, way up so high;
No wonder people call you Castle In The Sky!

Silent Bay
Marian Nov 2012
The moon's full rays hit across the bay,
Will the ship make it to shore? No way!
The ship is about ready to sink,
There are rocky pebbles, islands, and coasts on either side;
The sinking ship no more doth glide!

The sky is black clouds across the black sky and moon make everything look creepy,
The sinking ship hits a rock and moaneth creakily,
There are rocks and rocky islands on either side,
They that are in the ship are trapped inside!

There's no way around the rocks and islands,
Nothing but silence.
Will this be the moon's last ray?
No wonder people call this place Silent Bay!

The bird skims across the shivering water's way,
Silence. . . The Silent Bay!

Moonlight Sailing
Marian Nov 2012
There is a faint sunset ring, yellow, red, pink, and lavender, around the moon,
I hope the ships won't sink anytime soon,
Pray we make it to shore;
Before the storm rises anymore.

Please, dear God the storm keeps rising in the west,
Please don't let us sink down to an ocean-covered rest,
Don't let this be the last time we sail away;
The last time we see an ocean day!

Please let us make it safely to shore,
And see an ocean day once more.
God, lets the moon appear,
To let them know He will protect them and let them make it to shore and to let them know He is near.

Ten Peaks
Marian Nov 2012
I see ten mountain peaks,
Their beauty I seek,
There they are clothed so fancy yet meek!

I see hunter-green furs,
I also see some larkspurs,
There are trees on either side;
Of the beautiful waterfall wide.

I see boulders piled nearly as high,
As high as the trees and peaks which almost touch the sky,
Oh, how I would love to go there;
To see the ten peaks and take in the lovely fresh mountain air!

There are fluffy white clouds in the sky,
And on one side a rippling hill doth lie,
There on the mountains snow is scattered here and there;
I see the light blue sky in the air!

The mountains are carefully built close together in heaps,
And in Spring all ten peaks a little peek,
Wherefore they're called ten peaks!

Diamond Head Romance
Marian Nov 2012
I love this place the most,
The full moon's shadows on the rocky island coast,
There's a ring around the moon big and bright;
This is one of the most beautiful nights!

The crashing blue waves are in motion,
The whale came up out of the ocean,
There are clouds in the sky and a faint sunset in the night;
The moon rays slant under the ocean big and bright!

The fishes and dolphins swiming beautifully under the sea,
This place is quite a treasure for me,
The clouds look as if they dance;
For people call this place Diamond Head Romance.

Ancients Sleep
Marian Nov 2012
I love the Winter's beauty the snow on the ground and the frozen creek,
In Spring and Summer I treasure it and in Winter it I seek,
The snow covered boughs hang to the snow-covered ground;
Silently the snow falls without a sound.

The mountain behind the trees is snow-covered too,
The sky is a reflected white instead of royal blue,
Numerous trees are covered in ice and snow,
Their branches are so heavy with snow and ice they hang low.

It is so beautiful I begin to cry,
Out of my mouth I heave a crying sigh,
The trees in Spring and Summer have a little peep,
Before they go again to sleep in snow wherefore they call it the Ancients Sleep.

Daddy Mine
Marian Nov 2012
In all the world my Daddy is the best
Sometimes he likes to play croquet with me,
And everyday fills each moment with zest:
So that golden hours charm us with their glee.

He teaches me about Heaven and God
From the pages of our worn Bible each day,
And even though he  never uses a rod
Instead Daddy teaches me how to pray.

Sometimes he teases like a little boy,
Plays the piano and sings an old hymn,
Flooding our humble abode with such joy
And say! You guessed it! My Daddy's name is Tim.

Blessings
Marian Nov 2012
Kitten (babies or any age/size) are small blessings from God,
When first born they are as small as a pea pod.
Unlike dogs that go bow-wow,
Kittens have a quiet meow,

Often when I look at them I say: wow,
Kitten purr so pet them now!
They are small,
They sit in the hall.

They nap all day,
And the rest of time they play,
I have a place for them in my heart;
Big or small they're smart!!

They usually catch a mouse (or mouses),
For this reason,
And many more;
It's best to keep them in the house.

This is a short poem taken from the Bible John 15. If you aren't saved now is the time to be saved. It is very simple. You choose where you want to live Heaven or Hell. No one can make up your mind for you it is a choice you must make. If you want to live with God in Heven where we'll all be perfect then ask God into your heart or if you want to live in Hell (Mark 9:44) "Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched" then just stay the way you are.
Which will you choose?

Rejoice!
Marian Nov 2012
O, saints lift up your voice,
To Him and rejoice,
O sing a song of praise;
For all His kind ways!

He leads us day by day,
And turns us around when we go astray,
He always hears us when to Him we pray;
And He never from us walks away.

Always Him love,
And put your thoughts and focus on above,
Always from Him seek His will;
Even if His answer is no love Him still!

Ask, Seek, Knock,
Remember God's the rock,
He walked on the waves and stilled the storm;
And He's the only one who can keep us safe from harm.

Night
Marian Nov 2012
As I am sitting up in bed looking out my window at night,
I notice the moon big and bright.
Such a beautiful treasure,
Just looking at it is my delightful pleasure.

A cloud passes and hides the moon a little while from sight,
When the cloud has passed it again shows it's light.
I hear the crickets loud clear music from somewhere,
There the moon still hangs in the air.

The moon casts it's shadows on the ground making it look like snow,
Is it beautiful? Yes, I know.
The stars twinkling in the sky,
Like winking soldiers way up high.

Night is one of my favorite times,
When everybody's asleep and 4:00 the clock chimes.
Night is when the roses bloom,
And when the moon's bright shadows cast into the room.

Night is the time when Katy-Dids sing,
The only time when Butterflies stop flying on satin wings,
The time when diamonds sparkle on the silver ring.

When rubies sparkle in the night,
From the moon which makes everything look beautiful and bright,
The only light in the quiet and peaceful night,
Is the moon the natural night-light.

The buds are just begining to bloom,
No more days of gloom,
The flowers are just begining to bud at my feet;
The bubble of the once frozen creek;
Makes a music that is sweet!

As I am dreming by the creek, Hark!
There is the song of the Meadow Lark,
Spring o' the year,
No more time for sadness its time to cheer!

Or hear the grown-up people's feet
Still going past me in the street.

And I should like so much to play,

The Little Busy Bee

How doth the little busy bee
Improve each shining hour,
And gather honey all the day
From every opening flow'r!

How skillfully she builds her cell!
How neat she spreads the wax!
And labours hard to store it well
With the sweet food she makes.

In works of labour or of skill,
I would be busy, too;
For Satan finds some mischief still
For idle hands to do.

In books, or work, or healthy play,
Let my first years be passed,
That I might give for ev'ry day,

Part I

Here she lies,
Underneath the cloudless skies,
In the Churchyard full of graves,
Near the frothy- foamy waves.
Dead. . . is everyone that saw her when she died,
The same ones that cared and cried,
Lady Jane Of England.

Here rests her body upon the lap of earth,
Underneath the elm and buried in the turf,
Dead Lady Of England.

Her grave covered with lichens and moss,
And it is true her head she lossed,
Poor Lady Of England.

The Brook
Marian Oct 2012
I come from haunts of coot and hern;
I make a sudden sally;
I sparkle out among the fern
To bicker down a valley.

By thirty hills I hurry down,
Or slip between the ridges,
By twenty thorps, a little town,
And half a hundred bridges.

At last by Philip's farm I flow
To join the brimming river,
For men may come and men may go,
But I go on forever.

I chatter over stony ways
In sharps and trebles;
I bubble into eddying bay;
I babble on the pebbles.

I chatter, chatter as I flow
To join the brimming river,
For men may come and men may go,
But I go on forever.

I wind about, and in and out,
With here a blossom sailing,
And here and there a ***** trout,
And here and there a grayling.

And here and there a foamy flake
Upon me, as I travel
With many a silvery waterbreak
Above the golden gravel,

And draw them all along, and flow
To joing the brimming river;
For men may come and men may go,
But I go on forever.

I steal by lawns and grassy plots;
I slide by hazel covers;
I move the sweet forget-me-nots
That grow for happy lovers.

I slip, I slide, I gloom, I glance
Among my skimming swallows;
I make the netted sunbeams dance
Against my sandy shallows.

I murmur under moon and stars
In brambly wildernesses;
I linger by my shingly bars;
I loiter round my cresses;

And out again I curve and flow
To join the brimming river;
For men may come and men may go,
But I go on forever.

We must hold and cleave to time fast,
For the old saying goes the mill will never grind with the water that has passed.
Put God first and yourself last,

Spring comes and goes away fast,
The mill will never grind with the water that has passed.
Summer and Fall comes fast for all,

Winter comes and it goes,
And its Spring again,
Winter glided away just as fast as it arose,
The mill will never grind with the water that has passed.

Those Evening Bells
Marian Oct 2012
Those evening bells! those evening bells!
How many a tale their music tells,
Of youth and home and that sweet time
When last I heard their soothing chime.

Those joyous hours are passed away;
And many a heart that then was gay,
Within the tomb now darkly dwells,
And hears no more those evening bells.

And so 'twill be when I am gone;
That tuneful peal will still ring on,
While other bards shall walk these dells,
And sing your praise, sweet evening bells!
