Learned Haiku today
I've learned enough for one day
Time to go and play

The eroding wind
sounded lyrical
the length of time
it lasted
The wooden cup wasn't knocked over

I couldn't help but see
the leaves
of the horse chestnut tree
were turning brown
sooner than the rest

On my return
I heard on the radio
that this was due to moss
recently killing
fifty per cent of them

No wonder we're going bonkers
looking for conkers

Some visions are absurd

Feeling isolated
turn your mind to a word
such as 'thick' or 'thin'

Dwelling with that word within
the vision might not be so absurd

Some people notice autumn
by the flowers dying down

Some people notice autumn
by flocks of birds flying 'round

Some people notice autumn
from the chill in the air

Some people notice autumn
when the trees become bare

Some people notice autumn
when leaves change colours on trees

Some people notice autumn
when their bodies begin to freeze

I like to peel an orange
and share it around

I don't know why 'Page'
is a girls' name

My spine moves slowly
side to side

'Grace' we say
before we eat

I still can't fathom
how to put my duvet cover on
