Until I retired
I didn't notice

the colours of the dew on the grass
and the shape of the water droplets
the scent of the flowers after the rain
the greenness of the fields

Having more time to spare
I have noticed changes everywhere

I don't understand computers
technology, mobile phones-
things that are not tangible
but
I do understand
nature's cycle
like the journey leaves undergo
from falling off
in the autumn
and
reappearing
in the springtime
as buds and blossoms,
migrations and hibernations
of birds and animals,
all interdependent
on each other
and their environment

after the storms the last few weeks
I saw  a Crocus growing through the lawn
The beauty of spring flowers
thriving
brings joy to my heart
as does the sound
of little birds singing

The storms with destructive winds
of over two hundred miles per hour
in the atmosphere

and climate change more real

"What to do for the best?"
I asked myself

A drop of rain in the summertime
when the climate is hot
makes a blackbird sing
and petals of the flower open
for which my wifi isn't necessary

As the sun rose in the east

The heron opened his wings

curled as he flew

over the Oblique and the trees

which were in full bloom

until it was out

of sight

From where I have been

Nowhere is as beautiful as spring in England

from what I have seen
