Almost frozen
The lake sits like a thick stew
And I wonder if one day
I’ll see the bottom
I’ve got an itch
That grows in inches
Who’s the *****
That always misses
The blank page waits
But I’ve got no drink
And therefore my think-tank is empty
Can I ride out the storm
I can see the shore no longer
But the light is getting stronger
From an unknown source
I’ve got an ancient itch
Who’s got the original scratch
Lucy Tonic Dec 2013
The three of us,
Fearless,
Driving in your car
Passing yellow lines
Underneath yellow stars
I’m your passenger
Dancing with my seatbelt on
Sailing down the streets of fire
We’re dangerous, but do no harm
The three of us,
Fearless,
Passing green back and forth
On the verge of losing innocence
With the compass reading north
Lucy Tonic Dec 2013
Two worlds
Of three dimensions
Collide together
Or
A black hole singularity
A portal between universes
And there are many
Bouncing back and forth
The beginning of the beginning
Puzzles cosmologists
But only in your heart
Can you know what It is
Lucy Tonic Dec 2013
Nowhere to go
Living in oblivion
No root
Missing the mark
When existence is a nightmare
There is doubt and division
Instability and self-destruction
Roadlessness
Being caught in many illusions
Always fleeing or being pursued
Always falling or flying without wings
Lost in a fog
Haunted in sleep
Until Wisdom reached The Limit
Which supported and preserved her
And her baby survived the Hadean era
Lucy Tonic Dec 2013
Wisdom suffered and had a baby called the world
Confusion became earth
Terror became water
Grief became air
And fire just because

The tree of life
Should be my third eye
Instead it’s a clock
And every time
I close my eyes
My dreams run amok

From first to last,
Put a veil over the middle class

And as I advance
In God’s circle dance
I’m aware I’m about to go under

Holding hands
While they make their plans
To remove Him from the middle

No footprints
No blinking
A child and an old man
Bringing bodies of poverty
To wealth of the spirit-
If only we could understand

They deal in bodies
It’s a roll of the dice
But at the end of it all
The womb is paradise

Sipping on a glass of heartbreak grape
With my records on
Everyone else is out chewing hate
I’m alone having fun

And the melody rips me out of my skin
Tears apart my senses from within
Makes me feel alive and so I grin
And spontaneously start to spin

There’s a ***** in my armor
That can only be healed by sound
Just a boat in the harbor
Sailing nowhere round and round

Poetic and political
Gets me every time
If I only had a dime for every moment
I witnessed that all-seeing eye

I’ll trade these jokes in a bowl
For a piece of your soul
There’s a knife in the sun
So I hope to God you’ll never be done

Sipping on a glass of heartbreak grape
With my records on
Everyone else is out chewing hate
I’m alone having fun
