My thoughts, my words,
I purge them out on paper
But the echo I hear,
Most clearly in my ear,
Is the conversation
Infinite feelings
Through infinite cigarettes
Life done
By twenty-seven
I’ll take that bet
The echo of epiphanies,
Ends where it starts
A run-on sentence
Beginning with f*ck
“Your name here”
In wonderland
Sounds less melancholy
Than “your name here”
Anywhere else
I’m in an **** of the mind
I’m burning up
The fury with the might
I’m trumping death with life

Cut wide open
Vertical
Is how I’d go

Society
Being civilized
Is not meant for this animal

So take me to the hospital
Donate my body
Just sing me to sleep
As I fade away

The good heart
Is open for business
But they’re no buyers
A bowl full of liars
So I guess I’ll cry
For the world and for my life

Cut wide open
Vertical
Is how I’d go

Faces
Nameless
The regulars come and go
Telling their stories slow
Drinking away their woes
That come and go
Stimulating conversation
On a brain that’s buzzed
Wipes away the rust
Foot-tapping on a floor of dust
With a pen, a napkin, and a glass
Time doesn’t move too fast
If only the thoughts could last
Seeing the future for the past
Familiar but not friendly
The bartender thinks
As he pours another drink
In a room that sinks
Faces
Nameless
The regulars come and go
Telling their stories slow
Drinking away their woes
That come and go

I was thinking
But are these thoughts mine
She used to be my valentine
Somehow my independence has been revived
O negative
Would you live how I lived
Grueling off the grid
I’m bleeding through a sieve
I might need some rest
Something could go wrong
But for now, I’m in paradise
With your good heart beating in my chest

I hear the shriek of the mandrake
As my future dies
Kiss me under the cherry tree
So we can be lucky
A universal sponge absorbing fennel
Waiting for the mind’s revival
Cooperating with my enemies
Hanging by the cemetery cypress tree
The naked and cunning chameleon
Tries to show his true colors
As Cain the unicorn says,
“Have a good line”
She wears a necklace of opal
It ruins her spiritual insurance policy
Born from the foam of an underwater church
She emerges with St. Christopher
As the future Buddha’s laugh at fate
They pick the road narrow and straight
I hear the shriek of the mandrake
As my future dies
So kiss me under the cherry tree
I want to be lucky

Righteous soul
Emerge unscathed
From fires of temptation
Ignore the Hydra
Study the centaur
Link the division between
Destruction and creation
Goddess, queen, princess, witch
God, king, wizard, demon
A demon’s in the way
But the animals are on your side
Says Francis of Assisi
Observe the three in OM
Chant till you come home
Oh, righteous soul
Emerge unscathed
From fires of temptation

Moon-filled night
Empty palace
Goddess on the table

A Greek river
New world order
A cherub and a skull

Bird and serpent
Triple suns
Fruit from crucifixion

A mirror, a top hat,
A bird, a ribbon,
An apple, a candle

Moon-filled night
Empty palace
Goddess on the table
