Sin festers just beneath the skin
To control the man within
Lord help me to rely on you
In the shelter of your truth
As sin festers just beneath the skin

Sin tries to take control of me
But I thank my God I've been set free
Free from all inside that hates
Tossed into the fiery lake
As sin tries to take control of me

I rely on the promise heard
The promise of your Holy word
That sets all the captives free
From sins pain and misery
I rely on the promised word

I could never be who it is I am
Without the precious blood of the sacrificial  lamb
Who loves and died for me
As my sin's now history
I could never be who it is I am

I must now be the sacrifice
Not one in death but one in life
To the one who set me free
Jesus Christ the reigning King
I must now be the sacrifice

I really hope there's sincerity in my words
For how many times I've been misled
Or misfed
Or purposefully choosing the wrong way

I realize it's humanity
We are perpetually weighed down by sin
But it was crucified, right?
Am I safe?

Faith without works is lost
I can't claim birthright without acting upon it
Right?

If I alienate myself from my Father,
will I be put in the will?

I'm scared.
I'm strong.
I'm proud.
I'm selfish.
And I'm trying
Sincerely

We're all given a special medium
To display the art of life we're living
Showing off your life's work with each brush stroke
Whether in styles of Rembrandt, Monet, or Picasso

Perhaps sculpture is your pleasure
In how those works are measured
No matter the form do it with passion
Preserved through the ages of everlasting

In a world that is filled with the abstract
At times it's hard to grasp where your at
So take a deep breath to clear your head
And create your masterpiece with the time you have left

For each one of us are given a medium
To display the art of life we're living
A boy sits alone
Waiting for a friend
Someone he can play with
Someone to hold his hand.

A girl in the hall
Rushes to get to class
But no one notices
As she pushes past.

A man stands
All alone on the street
Hoping someone will come along
And give him food to eat.

A woman sits on her bed
Aging each day
Wondering why her children
Are so far away.

There are so many lives
That are left untouched
Because we think what we
are doing is "good enough".

It's time we reach out
To the people in need
It's time that we became
His hands and feet.

Jesus called us to love
The broken and afraid
So what will your choice be?
Will you love or walk away?
