The pretty one smiled
So we danced for awhile
But her eyes were a tough wall to pass
Then I danced with another
Who was somebody's mother
And I ran away pretty fast

When I found a young babe
They were good lines I gave
And I thought my ship came in at last
But she teased and confused me
And finally refused me
When a guy in the band made a pass

SO I TOOK AN OLD MEMORY TO HEAVEN
SOME NIGHTS THAT'S THE HAND YOU ARE GIVEN
SHE FORGAVE MY LATE CALL
AND WE HAD US A BALL
WHEN I TOOK AN OLD MEMORY TO HEAVEN

My pride got knocked out
But there wasn't a doubt
My fantasy seemed mighty real
When I crossed that old bridge
It was something to dig...
I fell again head over heals

CHORUS

bridge:  My father once said like a very wise man
You can survive it if you take what's at hand

There was a House Speaker named Boehner
Who went forth without any honor
He did his best to hurt Obamacare
To damage the folks with no hospital care
He killed every bill that came to the House
He's sorry you'd say like the sorriest louse
Then Obama's army got ready to roll
Barach showed us methods we all could extoll
That got the people insurance at last
Poor Boehner he cried like he's done in the past
Then he fought every tax to help people on high
To get all their votes when November comes by
But there is a Father in Heaven above
Who whispered no man can win without love
Then Boehner tried suing  and shamefaced us all
Voters said Boehner  was losing his *****
Then he failed to effect immigration
And stifle the strongest of nations
He flunked with each program he wanted to win
Soon Boehner will be on the streets once again
So all will be well in the dear U.S.A.
There'll be no Boehner to get in the way
he...he...he

If  I could abandon you to Hell I would
You who started it in the first place
I owe you for so many transgressions
Tell me how I could ever repay you
Your mother had to be a **** to bore you
And no honest man would claim a ******* like you

It's not easy leaving you behind me
Without you, Babe, I lost my song to sing
No pleasure bring my heart as much elation
I've had too much to dream

I've tried to fall in love on other pillows
But there's no match for sweetness I have seen
No lips can lift me to the stars we climbed to
I've had too much to dream

I took you to many far off places
England...France...the palace of the queen
We've climbed the Eiffel Tower
'Heard Big  Ben toll the hour....
But no one else can make it so serene

Those memories will hold the center focus
New fantasies can never make the scene
Without you there's just nothing to imagine
I've had too much to dream

You're the prettiest
Of the songs
I ever wrote
You warmed every lyric
Every note
When I look at you my pen
Pours words that never end
Oh the goodness there
Is more than words can quote
You're the prettiest
Of the songs
I ever wrote

For some reason

I would love to heal

The distrust in your eyes
Louis Brown Mar 2014
I believe I am the one
Who has your needs measured
Who answers every yearning
Coming from deep inside you
The mission I aspire to
Is only to fulfill you
It was assigned to me
Back when the stars were born
To be here for you only
My first quest and my last
Till oceans dry
And suns burn out
