I paint my face
covering the flaws

Heavy sockets cradle the sleepless hours
unfavourable blush  and uneven creases
tell stories of worry and woe

map out my mind across my face
pieces drawn to disguise.

      Where                                                                              from
                                       the
  thoughts                                                         sprouting
                               are           across                                                    a
            planted                                     like
                                                                          weeds                  muddy field

A field thats walked across and trodden on
journey with care across its banks

because others have left marks
I cannot un trace.

Thought #14
Louisa Joy Mayes Feb 2017
Your Words are plucked out of the sky like stars
Carefully choosing
How your lips will bewitch me tonight

Sea me
Louisa Joy Mayes Apr 2017
Sometimes I am not alone
when I feel lonely
It can hit me like a wave
amongst a sea of people
I am supposed to know

But I drift off

                                 away

longing to be rescued
or more simply
to be understood
new poem alone poetry

Your eyes
Louisa Joy Mayes Feb 2017
Your words cut me deep
When they don't play along
But your eyes
Your eyes
Are rooted elsewhere
It's like your tongue is the thorn
When your eyes are full of honey

You're like a drip
A feed
That i no longer want
But I'm afraid
That I need

- how 'moving on' is going

The Sky and I
Louisa Joy Mayes Apr 2017
The sky and I
are two strangers in between
tempted to pass by

yet
drawn
to
stay

and watch a secret unfold
