When we move together
Through the dark streets of
Little Oslo,

Only children don't shy
Away. Black leather, band
Names,

Unretained laughter. If I
Saw us when I was eight,
I'd look up

To us too. I high-five a little
Boy as we pass. Only his mother
Doesn't laugh.

The sun dripped with liquid gold
from the heavens above
to the earth below
coral, violet and red
hung over my head
revealing to my afternoon eyes
the very soul of the fatherly sky
and I heard the sea speak
oh so salty and sweet

She whispered to me
goodnight in a gentle breeze
against the fading of the light
sinking beneath the horizon line
turning form a wild fire burning
into cool and ancient black
slick with shimmering stars
like freckles upon a giant's back

I, just another grain of sand
among the many on this beach
felt on the scale of existence
that mine carried little significance
no more than an ellipses in a speech
so what would it matter
if the rising waters
were to wash me out to sea
or if I remained
and the world ignored me
What would it matter?

Why was it not enough
that I was here
and I was alive?
Death and beauty join together,
Star-crossed liars, insisting on truth.
Whisper their mantra, a sordid chant,
As they poison the minds of the innocent youth.

Watch the roses on her breast,
As they dance to the beat of the witch’s hex.
Entice the men and the women too,
Give them a taste of this toxic brew.

Her beasts appear, wings spread wide,
The taste of victory in their eyes.

"Come around! come around! Come one, come all!
You're formally invited to the Master's Grand Ball."

Slowly they came, their faces aglow,
Stepping in time under the archer's bow.
To the top of the mountain they climb without rest.
Only the worthy will survive this test.

And there she stands with welcoming arms open wide,
Her kind giant's face shining with pride.
A rainbow appears as the stars arise
The Devil's hidden in an Angel's disguise.

She'll crush you beneath her golden feet,
Laugh as your blood pools in the street.
Dreaming, sure, but what happens next?
When the Goddess dons her warrior's vest?

They'll paint a picture from her fallen friends,
Sit a crown of posies upon her head.
Beware the deadly Angel's wrath
To all of you who cross her path.

I would say my wrists bled
garnet
scarlet
like something
imperial and pure

But all I saw was dirt
and poppy stained tissues
and razor blades all over the floor

Why
Why must I live?
Why must I breathe
The very air more deserving lungs
Could **** in?

Why do I do this?
Imagine a death
So perfect and poetic
Most would die trying to resemble it?

Why do I try?
I don't want to do this any more.
I hope this is goodbye.
Because I mean to die.
