I have a visitor

She touches the glass and talks into the phone

Are you okay

Yes

I

Am

Fine

Just wondering, she smiles

And I’m smiling too

Because she can’t see this glass

Or this divide between us

And she can’t see the phone she’s talking into

If I let down my bars

Unlocked my chains

In the prison of my mind

Could you handle what would pour out

Would I still have visitors?

And would you still stand by me, if I escaped from my prison?

I hang up my phone.

And walk back to my cell.

And nobody notices.

raindrops have it so easy
their only job
their sole mission
is to crash
plummet into the ground
nowhere in particular
never have to rise again
never have to apologize
never look around and realize they are nothing but a puddle

The wind blows gently,
Whisking away with it all,
Except memories.
It’s been two days since I’ve slept and
I think they’re coming to get me.  They
come for your money and spend it
On things you would never waste
Your money on.

Walking the streets in the early
morning or late at night, whichever one,
There was somebody following me
up to my apartment steps, I hurried,
Inside, I was safe.

My house is burning down, down
to the poor old ground. Memories
never dissipate.  Then I froze in my spot,
It couldn’t be! I have to forever
Leave this place.

Burning burning all around here,
Not just my home. All the rebels up
in smoke! There’s got to be a revolt!
There’s got to be more in life than,
all this war.

But it’s this night, this brisk cloudy
night, I heard a cry for freedom;
a shout for each other. Of course
they’ll lie, they’re not the ones
that are dying.

Where to go, where to hide,
Nobody really knows.  Pack
together tight to prove our rights!
Democracy, ruled not by the people,
just, some people.

Down the street holding hands,
Everyone who wants this change,
Ask more questions, nevertheless,
they’ll always try win no matter how
hard we try.

Here’s our chance to make an
impact, take the country, turn
it to a new direction.  It’s coming.
Who’s going to be the first to do
anything about it?
Hand prints on
sliding glass doors.
You don't realize
how many
there really
are.
Makes me want
to turn out
all the lights
and watch
the moon play
off the lake.

Hey lady with the marker up front
stocking our brains with useless tid bits
of information
*******!
Im not paying attention to you.
I guess you can say Im wasting my education
'Im gonna do something big, bigger then YOU'
Im gonna be a big movie star
with all my useless materialistic things
my over priced clothes. or my 6 million dollar car
making tabloids and headlines everytime
I find a girl thats better than just a ****
Ill have a big house, and leave a ton of rooms empty.
Ill try and seem sophisticated enough to try and write a lame half true autobiography
And Ill have a drug stint and people will know my problem
Six months will pass
December
Janurary
Feburary
March
April
May
'say what ever happened to him?'
Ill be clean then, and Ill look like Im enjoying myself
I did a good job of staying out of trouble
and when the trouble stopped so will the help
Soon Ill find myself alone in
my mansion with nothing to do
Ill give a hefty donation
But thats just because I feel useless
so old and just caged in
And when Im sitting in my chair
wormed by a fire, sipping on my aged wine
Ill be thinking how finishing college
getting a job and starting a family woulda been just fine
truth, funny, reality, abstract, difficult

Nothing is more put together
It's set up perfect and completely organized
Its not a book, nor one of
humans many establishments

Its a single piece of paper
and the ink on it reads
the Periodic Table of the Elements
funny, truth, simple, fun, smile
The steady, gray rain
drums the silence in my ears and
the sweet, cold drops caress my face
reminding me, again, how much
I wish you were here
to passionately kiss me until
the water turns to steam
rising from our melded skin and tangled limbs
as an offering of love to the gods
so they'll answer my prayers
of you.

Boats
They sail on
They get over rough water
They succeed
They fail
In many ways they are like us
We sail on
We get over rough water
We succeed
And We fail
