the substance of her eyes
was deeper than the stain of words across her lips
in her eyes you could read the
fairy tales or the romance novella that she was
living moment to moment
the epic taste of beautiful kingdoms fairy princess
in the sparkle of her half spoken smile
the clear lens of passions heat
in her perfumed sweat breaking upon her delicate brow
the high seas and paradise's shores with a strong lover
in the ***** hue of her blushing bride face
the substance of her eye
would tell how far away she is
at any given moment
and today she is
lifetimes and worlds distant in your arms
today she is someone else
with a different life
the substance of her eyes
is one of absence

I needed
the strength
of your
silence.

So, thank you.

I must not gaze at them although
Your eyes are dawning day;
I must not watch you as you go
Your sun-illumined way;

I hear but I must never heed
The fascinating note,
Which, fluting like a river reed,
Comes from your trembing throat;

I must not see upon your face
Love's softly glowing spark;
For there's the barrier of race,
You're fair and I am dark.
The final moments that I held you close against my chest
I felt my heart skip beats to match your cadence
And I knew that if you pulled away from me
My empty heart would cease to beat
For absence of a reason.
But you still said goodbye, and you left me pulseless.
If you live your life to follow the sunset
You'll surely end up where you started,
For beauty is fleeting like the day
And charm is deceptive; it passes away.
But when evening is nigh
As the sun elapses sky,
When the age of winter approaches
And pursuit of youth is all but hopeless,
I'll hold you and look love in the eyes
Clutching close my everlasting sunrise.

i'm barely sorry that i hurt you
i didn't even love you
and now you're giving me
passive aggressive silence
hoping i'll give a ****
darling, i know that trick
darling, don't waste your time
darling, be careful
just because it's working
doesn't mean i care
it just means i miss you
r attention

i know it isn't fair
you did everything right
you were good to me
but everyone's heart
belongs to someone
and mine was already
taken

so when i call at two am
don't pick up
you're just another
*******.

Who said that love was fire?
I know that love is ash.
It is the thing which remains
When the fire is spent,
The holy essence of experience.

Waiting days and days to see you
Longing for our intimate time together.
When there are clouds, I get anxious
But I must be patient.
Because I know you are there waiting for the clouds to fade as well,
So we can have our one night together, in anticipated harmony.
I know I cannot make the moon shine brighter than it wants.
I know I cannot demand it rise sooner than is possible.
And I surely cannot capture all its light for myself.
I am eternally grateful for your presence and will not fear you decent -
For I know, you will rise for me again.

Not a word spoken.
Not a word to speak.
A single glance that lingers, at what once was.
A image of oneself,
A love we thought would last.
In its place an unmet desire,
To be complete,
To be full again.

The darkness that surrounds my heart.
A welcoming evil grin.
The shadow that clouds the light,
not of my own, But the fear that stands before me,
that rules me.

An empty shell of a former self.
For you have stolen what was left.
The last of my soul I gave to you.

As time passes all hope fades.
A quiet sound this emptiness brings.
A single  prayer seeps through,
Only but a whisper.
That as time and hope begins to dull,
I may finally be able to let go
