Hey
remember two years ago
When we met at that gay rights rally
Or that time that we saw eachother
In the super market line

What about the time we passed eachother in the hall
In high school
May be you remember the time we sat at the train station for an hour or two waiting to ride
Perhaps the you remember the airport terminal where we were delayed and had to wait for another flight.

You may even remember that time I saw you in the food court at the mall
or in the back at the local show
Well even if you don’t remember me
I remember you.

And sometimes I still think about you
I’m wondering what you’ve done with your life since then
Because I haven’t changed much,

But I’m sure you went on to do great things
Maybe you remember me the way I remember you
We should have spoke to one another,
I’m sure we would have been great friends.

Emma
after you touched me
my confidence lasted
a full day

softly...
your hand was warm

it was just a brush by, really

and it wasn't even a soft spot

just exposed.

I want to mix with you still
leave cool spots on your cheeks
softly...
drip down your legs.

the air would be yellow sun around our heads
i'm so sorry for being so cold,

my heart runs away from me from time to time

Pieces of you, I've collected;
Soothingly held - *like pebbles kept in pockets
.
Never once feeling the weight,
only their sparkle
**.
Talking to a friend, reminded me...

Of my curiosity when meeting a  '***** by choice' nomad
(his words, not mine!) - who carried a brick with him.

I asked him, Why?

*"On cold days" he said,"I put the brick in the base of the fire,
so as the night draws in and the fire dies -
I wrap it in a towel to keep my feet warm overnight."*

Smelling Autumn bonfires as our darker nights draw in,
I think of him; With his *choice* of burden.
