She has no mercy for herself
Her duty is to others
Selflessly she keeps the peace
The penitence of Mothers.
Forgive me now the Pedestal
I see it was your Cross
My adoration kept you on
Your pedestal of Loss.
Forgive me too my arrogance
I thought I saw you true
Your saintliness a chosen role
Full You I never knew
Holy Suffering now Unveiled
Goddess Martyr Self-Impaled.
This poem was inspired by my beloved mother, with whom I am still evolving , many years after her death.
