Leila The Kiwi Jan 2020
Some people wander
The streets
To clear their heads

I wander
Between
Lines
On a
Page.

My mind is a wondrous place
Beautiful lakes to bathe in
Unseen heights to soar from
Treasures to uncover

But oftentimes this mind of mine
Strays from the path
Lost in a maze of old oaks
Tripping on loose stones
Tangled in thorns
Struggling to see through the fog

In these times I have to
Find my own hand
To lead myself back to the light
Sometimes I have help from friends
Sometimes I have help from words
But mostly, I have help from myself

We all have our own worlds
Held in our minds
Many memories
Hopes and dreams
Kind and wicked thoughts

I just hope,
For all of us,
That when we get lost in the wild
We manage to find a way back

You leave a bad taste
In my mouth

There's no more to say.

A long lost
Box of treasures
The thought of you
Gives me shivers.

I take a light to these pages
Watching my thoughts drift on the wind
Petals fall like unspoken words

He loves me...
                          not.

I would scream for you if you would hear me.
I would burn this place to the ground if it meant you
would see the smoke.
I would ask for you to set me free.
I would because to you, I'm no more than a joke.

His eyes can be
Rather chilling
When they see right through
My intentions lay bare

Taking his hand
I lead him away
He growls in my ear
'How have you been, my dear?"

"I've been craving to have you near."
