Leila The Kiwi Jan 2020
I would scream for you if you would hear me.
I would burn this place to the ground if it meant you
would see the smoke.
I would ask for you to set me free.
I would because to you, I'm no more than a joke.

His eyes can be
Rather chilling
When they see right through
My intentions lay bare

Taking his hand
I lead him away
He growls in my ear
'How have you been, my dear?"

"I've been craving to have you near."

Eyes like clear skies omit the light of a million blues
If only I could experience a day in your shoes
I'd be able to know whether you were spinning lies
or if you told the truth
I wish it wouldn't force me to leave
For your smile holds eternal youth
Without it, I would grieve.

Together we walk
This same path
Not making contact
We stare at our toes

I can't help but hope
To find a crossroad

Though I fear
The aftermath.

Memories
Words
and
Experiences
Disintegrate

Fortunately
For you
This is something
I can anticipate.

Sometimes we have to
Be our own filter

Denying ourselves
In order
To experience
Clarity.
