There is a plague
of wasps
this summer

They are everywhere
Mind what you eat
you could get stung

are looking very well

The squirrel was back
this morning
just as day was dawning
scrambling up a tree
fitter than you or me
looking out for nuts
There was no ifs or buts

The ambulance
outside again
It seems an early morning ritual

The Hostas
are flowering
well
this year
don't always do

I met some Chinese
on my walk today
They seemed lost

I was the last
of the old Victorian gardeners
the 'cap in hand'
sort of chap
I did six acres
on my own
mowing lawns
and tending flower beds
just getting help
with the vast amount of leaves
in the fall
Now the landscapers turn up
and do it all
in one day
(in a fashion)
My how things have changed
