I painted my nails
my eyes were covered in blue
  did you notice
wearing my best dress
anxiously waiting for you
  did you notice
I try hard for you
to please every inch of you
  did you notice
next thing i knew
my face was covered in blue
tears roll down my cheeks without control
  did you notice
my heart dropped to the floor
I can't take this pain anymore
just writing.

Dylan
She lies, softly snoring,
on my chest.
I know she doesn't mean
to lead me on.

We met a month ago,
when we both climbed
on top a roof,
to gaze at the moon.

We shared of few tales
of too many trips gone astray
and laughed at the people
through the sky-light

unaware of the pair
sitting cross-legged
just above their heads --
just above their heads.

We were made of different
stuff than those people
below us; that night
we weren't even human.

But days follow nights
and whispered words
rarely amount to truth.

She lies like everyone before her:
afraid to hurt the people she loves.
I join with you today.
the nation
in whose symbolic shadow we stand,
seared in the withering flames of injustice.
daybreak on a lonely island
in the midst of a vast ocean of material
architects -
wrote the sacred obligation:
give the people a bad check -
“insufficient funds.”
the bank of justice is bankrupt
in the great vaults of opportunity, of
the fierce urgency of now.
whirlwinds shake the foundations of my people.
by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred,
high plane of dignity - degenerate.
veterans of creative suffering! unearned suffering!
sweltering with the heat of injustice and oppression
not judged by the color of their skin, but
by the content of their banks!
a poem constructed of lines from Martin Luther King Jr.'s speech 'I Have a Dream.' three words added.
Tired of hating myself and you don't care
Love myself more and you hate that
Oppose me because you oppose everyone else
I don't kiss *** or make others look bad to be accepted
I don't need negative tension or negative vibes from ppl who don't like me
Take that else where you'll find no one gives a **** it bothers
it's not our false you dk how to express yourself
Not into what you have to say got better things to do with my day
You could be a bully but your not getting your way with me
Ill be better as you get worse
make it seem like your actions are pardon because others have done worse
Breaking free of the curse your words mean nothing
I'm destine to be something much more
All your hate is easy to ignore
flickering
flittering
thoughts like butterflies
tinkering
tampering
with my mental state
shimmering
slithering
serpentine dreams of
tippety
tapping
words on the page
like beautiful
bubbles of
thoughtful babble
rattle
rant
but I can't
thoughts are butterflies
and they fly
they defy
me
when I try
to catch them
