You see me

yet I cannot see myself

without...

you.

We are a dangerous lot
We play a dangerous game
We know this…. But keep at it all the same

We are wild, not tame
We roam this vast, wild, sometimes friendly… sometimes unfriendly… plain
This sun scorched wilderness, this rough terrain

We get to carry a burden, such a heavy load
To work our way up the food chain
Life is a ragged road

To stand up and face a predator
While still preying on vulnerable prey
This is how it is, the law of the jungle

This line doesn’t belong here right? Still... I should probably end it with something that rhymes, like ‘pray’

The law of the strong
The jaw that can snap a neck bone
The claw of the jungle

The dominant ones have their way… it’s quite clear
The lesser ones will cower in fear
And those that spectate watch from a distance, and do not interfere

Let nature take its course
I have said enough, I await your feedback, for  this poem was metaphorical and not literal… of course
And so, kindly, if you will... engage me, the author, in profound discourse.

The pigeon dove's
is my favourite sound,
the quintuple coo
not so profound

I know you're out there,
thinking of me.
at night in your bed,
as pretty as can be.
The emotions pour out,
but the words they stay in.
In this fatal second we know,
the deadliest sin.

And these seconds tick past,
like the tears that fill your eyes.
As the liquid hits the floor,
this moment never dies.
Hollywood can't hold us back,
Hollywood can't hold us back.

The screaming begins,
as we swear never to let go.
But reality sets in,
our weakness starts to show.
And still you hold my hand,
but were starting to lose grasp.
We whisper don't lose hope,
but were going nowhere fast.

And these seconds tick past,
like the tears that fill your eyes.
as the liquid hits the floor this moment never dies.
Hollywood can't hold us back,
Hollywood can't hold us back.

And we still love so truthfully,
thinking dreaming on your bed,
your eyes as pretty as can be.
And today our bond withheld,
because Hollywood can't take you,
no Hollywood can't take you,
no Hollywood can't take you from me.

(I love you Mandy)

I thought I would pay homage to it.

Can you not see I'm dying

no blade
no bullet
no poison down my gullet

no rope
no river
no liquer in my liver

no pills
no pillow
no stakes of sharpened willow

but I'm dying all the same...

dying

to be with you again

my love.
