Lying on my back
Arms sprawled and breath erratic, immobile
Can't even check to see my wounds but they have not gone unnoticed
In hindsight, the fall was too deep
The greatest things in life have gone sour
Laughter joy and love  morphed into pain
My wanting to trust was amusingly a blindfold
But in the end it turned out to be ok because
Whiskey is my rebound

You've beaten me
So deep and with such precision
Left lying bruised
Ashamed of the person you have turn me into
At one point
I utterly surrendered
Looking at who I was at the moment
I was ready for the forever embrace of that knockout blow
Just to have you pull that sweet coup de grâce
And burdened me with the aftermath of my undoing.
Wallowing inside,
I asked myself why?
Searching for answers
I heard an edifying voice
"Pick yourself up ******
Blame it on your lack of strength, fortitude, or help another day
Cuz right now, it's just you
And if you don't keep fighting you'll have no one else to blame!"

So I staggered upright and licked my wounds
Nodded to my reflection in the shattered glass
And under my breath I declared,
"Life, I'm coming for you"

Sitting on the train tracks
Buying my time
Wanting to ease the pain
Eyes focused on the bottom of this bottle
Tatted on my soul is the wrong words
That forged this mangled mind
Weakness is the absence of emotions
I wish i was weak
Within strength comes pain
And a eternal struggle to forget
As night bows out and the moon flickers
My only regret is
Ever wasting my time thinking about this ****

Have the shatering cries awoken you
Have the conscientious thoughts split you in two
Or will you shrug and let it pass
Mumbling silent "I'm glad it aint my ***"

Contradicting morales give us hope
Dangling in view like a transparent rope
Instead of taking action we hessitate, stall
All the whille letting the person below fall

I however, will not run from the fight
Face down the darkness even in the shadow o f the night
I will be there to say "Hey miss,
Why are you crying
Is it cuz of all the people dying
Don't worry it won't be long
One day they will hear our sad song
They will realize what went wrong
For humanity will see us through
This I promise you"

The enchantment of it all
That is what we all search for
The swooning, the fluttering
The capturing of that which is insubstantial
We spend hours, day, weeks
Imagining the perfect half
Yet I ask
Is that love?
Love is more than an ideal
It is culmination of two souls
Not to be their savior
But an equal partner
Who will walk through the darkness
Into the light that is their lives, together

I ask the fated angel when will it come
Anxiously waiting for the coming days
Alluding as the this unattainable feeling is
Its still manages to give me the rough and tumble
That's what it is
That's why we fight for it

I traced the mountain skyline
Placed at rivers bend
Trying to recapture the beauty
That once made my heart a butterflies wingbeat.
The dullness filled that landscape in comparison

If in my lifetime
I were to capture a sight of you once
In a moment of time
I would praise the starry night sky
That cast a glimmer of light upon your face
